I saw the iPad case on the Apple store website and thought it looked good. I like the various orientations you can use it in and when the front is folded over, it looks really neat.

So I went and bought one yesterday. In real life, it looks quite cheap. I didn't realise it was just some moulded rubber and made in two halfs joined together leaving a massive seam. It looks cheap, not the professional look I was expecting. For £30, I'm disappointed. It is good that it acts as a stand but I was hoping for something better looking.

Anyone found anything better?

Chris

I bought a LuvMac iPad case from ebay for £16.99 Inc postage

It works as a stand & looks pretty smart. It's made from "PU Leather" but feels rugged/expensive (but it's a bit whiffy when new)

:)

Finish isn't great on the Apple one, but it's nice and compact and protects it well. All the other cases with a similar folding arrangement I've seen made the whole thing an inch thick, which kid of defeats the point of the ipad!

The Apple case is VERY functional if cheap looking. I hated it at first, got it as i needed something until my Dodocase arrive and i am liking it more now. It is thin, it is grippy, and it is light.

The only down side is the edges are not very good to hold, and it gets dirtyeasily until you wipe it with a wet cloth.

I bought one of the leather cases in Tesco for mine for about a tenner, totally functional although it doesn't look great :)

The Macauley bookstand looks like a good alternative to the official Apple one.
Cancomuk are listing them for £25 but don't have them in stock yet.
