I have just bought the version 2 upgrade, do I need to uninstall version 1.X the instructions don't say.

I would suggest that you just run the installer. It will tell you if you need to uninstall the old version, if not it will uninstall it for you. I would be very surprised if there were any problems.

Many thanks for the quick reply, I just have not learnt much about the MAC (sad for and IT professiona:|l).

I wll try it now

cowasaki thanks it has just installed with no problems :) and is so much faster than the previous version:clap:

Yep. I upgraded from 1.5? to 2.0 just put the disc in, and it done it all for me.
Easy. However. I wont do the same when I get round to upgrading to leopard.

I have the leopard upgrade but have not loaded it yet, I am happy the the current setup and don't really want to rebuild just yet.

I have 7 machines in the house running Leopard (1 of them is server) I bought a family licence (5x) and one of the machines was supplied with Leopard. I have installed it from scratch and as an upgrade, it ran faultlessly both ways so I doubt you will have any problems whatsoever. Tiger was fantastic but Leopard is better. Time Machine is superb, really superb.

I used Aperture version 1.5 for months and it was pretty good but I really do not like the way it forces you to use its file structure to stores the files. This causes major problems when you are running several computers and having to transfer the whole structure backwards and forwards. There may be a better way to do it than was most obvious but I would like the flexibility of using MY file structure. Lightroom did that for me and it is much cheaper! I dumped aperture even after paying for it and bought lightroom. I have been happy with it since. I would love to try aperture 2 but even if it is better than lightroom I don't want to be changing again
