It's quite thought provoking, as you don't see the effect of the aperture and shutter changes, until you've hit the "shoot it" button. This encourages you to think about what you're actually doing, rather than just mindlessly sliding sliders backwards and forwards without really testing your knowledge :|.
Still, they're all great applications, IMO. I actually practised with these before I'd even got my first DSLR and was able to 'hit the ground running' to a certain extent, after I finally did buy one, thanks to these (free ) online tools .
