Aperture Question

I'm giving Aperture a try.

I have imported my images into the Aperture library then deleted some from the hard disk using Lihtroom but the images are still in the Aperture library.

Is there a way to update the library or does Aperture copy everything as you import it?

Also, I have edited some images in LR3 and despite having the "automatically write changes into xmp" box checked in the Lightroom Catalog settings menu, it is just the unedited RAW files that are showing up in Aperture.

I use DNGs with Lightroom.

Any ideas how I et Aperture to see my adjustments that have been done in LR3?
