I posted a link a little while ago to some bargains aperture were selling..seems they have loads on clearance sale at the moment:thinking: Just curious as to wether they were going the same way as AJ Purdy?

Prices don't seem that cheap to me, seeing how its all used.

The reason for the 80-400 VR reduction will become obvious within 4 months.

I can't see any real bargains, nothing that would scream fire-sale anyway, a few Nikon bodies and lenses at not far off Ebay prices, but that's it. Looks to me more like they're just trying to shift some stock and get some cashflow, nothing more sinister...

They have reduced some of their new prices as well...
Oh well just curious.

I bought a flash off them a couple of days ago, no problems at all, better than described and cheap ;)

When i rang up to buy my Tamron 70-200, the guy was so nice on the phone, the transaction was fast and so was delivery. Would so use Aperture again!

Aperture aren't in trouble, to the best of my knowledge. I picked up a very well-priced canon 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS from them recently, and they explained that they've decided to concentrate exclusively on used stock rather than try to compete on new stock as well. Pretty sensible if you ask me. Their used section is amazing.

If you're ever passing near the British Museum, it's well worth dropping in. A well-stocked second-hand camera shop and a nice coffee-shop combined - what more could you want?

That's a really dangerous combination, I'm just glad they're so far away
