Edit My Images
No
Ok, so I'm having an issue with Aperture that I can't get my head around.
I've attached some screen grabs to illustrate my point. The first screen grab is how the image looks when it's in camera and also how it appears in the preview bar in Aperture. The second is how it looks after I open it in Aperture and before I do any edits. Obviously, the first is a better starting point for editing. Any ideas whats happening and how to put it back?

when you say 'aperture issues' are you referring to 'aperture software' issues????- some kind of photo editting software???

how was the original photo taken??? in raw??

maybe the software has default calibration issues or something perhaps???

Sorry, should have been clearer. Using Apple Aperture 3. All images shot in RAW. I'm assuming the issue has something to do with the Preview being the processed jpg but the opened image being the RAW file. I just can't figure out how to get it nearer to what I saw in camera.

apologies- im not familiar with apple aperture 3 software.....

would imagine it would be fairly similar to over software doing the same thing....

are there any settings for depth of field??? from the outline around the face it looks as if the rears been brought forward to make a flatter image

alternatively try and fade the background out a bit

sounds like you need to have a experimentation session lol

Looks that way. This has never happened before though so can't figure it out... :-(

dud software????

i got a new photoediting software pack from pc world for £20 which is far better than the free ones i had downloaded previously and no where near as expensive as some of the softwares out there on the market..

Have you set Aperture up to apply any Preset/Effect on import, check on the import panel. It looks like the Polarize Brush has been over used on the background to try and darken the blue colour, or the auto enhance is being applied.

Once you have opened the image try removing all adjustments to see if it goes back to normal, or a new version from original, both available by a right mouse click menu.

Have you updated to the lasted version which became available on Monday version 3.4 I think.

It certainly nothing I have seen before on my set-up.
