Does aperture have the ability to generate pdfs of selected images in moderate resolution and lay them out in a pdf document? The sort of one that would have your name, project, name and subject name on each page and the filename of each image just under the image?

I know adobe bridge can do this but it is £££ and I don't like adobe.

Can aperture do it?

Anyone??

I tried the jpg to pdf app but it just stuck each image on a single page of the document. I would normally want at least 2 to a page.

I know lightroom does it but I don't want lightroom. Iphoto almost does it but only with web pages.

I don't know if its what you want but I've used pdf999 to do similar? Basically prints the project to a PDF...

Pdf999 is a printer driver and windows only so no good. But thanks for looking

Still looking for something that will generate a layout of several images to a page with labels, captions etc.

Sorry, you didn't specify really, so I took a blind guess, :-) good luck

When you go to print in Aperture there's an option on the above left to print out contact sheets. You can use that and adjust accordingly to get multiple images per side.

Choosing "More options" bottom left will reveal an option to allow you to include various bits of the metadata for each image.

Finally hit print and you'll be presented with the standard Mac print dialog window. Bottom left of that window is an option to save as PDF.

You don't have fine control over the PDF production process, but it's better than nothing and you don't have to pay a penny for it.

Thanks Andy. That sounds like it is similar to the one I've seen in Lightroom which does the right kind of thing.

I may have to stump up for aperture yet :)

For around 50 or 60 quid from the App Store you'd be mad not to IMO.
