I'm struggling to find where Aperture 3 puts deleted files if you use the backspace key only.

I know that if you hit backspace and the command key it moves them to Aperture's own Trash folder but I deleted an image using backspace only by mistake and I can't find where it's moved it too.

I've done a spotlight search so I'm fearing that the file may have totally vanished.

I'm not seeing anything specific for that in the keyboard shortcuts... did you change the display search criteria, so you're now looking at a limited set instead of all images in that project ?

I don't think so. It only seems to delete using backspace if I'm viewing photos in the thumbnail view.

sorry, that's all I can think of.. I've had oddities happen, when I've changed the display criteria thinking I'd lost images... when in fact it was I'd hit a keyboard shortcut I wasn't aware of... The browser (thumbnail view) by default doesn't have the backspace key as a function according to my docs.

Now, this is a bit odd. I searched everywhere for that file (used Spotlight etc) and there was no sign of it. I then went into Aperture's section for images added during the last week and found it there so I was able to drag it back to where it belongs.
