Aperture 3 convert to jpeg, delete raw

Evening all. On Aperture 3, is there an easy way to convert a raw file to jpeg and delete the raw file thus freeing up a little hard disk space without losing the image all together (I'm thinking snap shots here).

I think you could do that with AppleScript, although I don't know how. Try the Aperture support group in the Apple forums. Someone there wrote me a script to rewrite a batch of dates for scanned slides, so that the images more closely represented when they were taken (40 years ago!).
