AP - Doing 'FREE' reflectors again... :-)

Would like to say thanks for the heads up Venomator. I'm new at this, and will be good to try out the freebies before deciding if I have a need for a reflector in the future. So I get to experiment for £2.40!

You're welcome Mick... ;) ...have fun experimenting as that's part of the joy that is photography... :D

:p

Thanks from me, too. By the time I noticed this post I thought I would be too late but guess what, I found the very last AP in the shop today, with the reflector which is the one I wanted. I'm looking forward to trying it out. I had to find a Youtube video on how to fold it up again, though

Damn, stop spreading the word guys. I was hoping to snap these all up and sell them on flea bay.

The best AP gift was the shoe mount bubble level.

I've got a totally different use in mind for my white balancer... it ought to work, just need to test it out...

You're welcome Matt... ... but you need to think a bit more laterally... :D ...

:p

after feeling suitably chastised I took this shot, but put it on a pendrive and lost it for a day or two over the weekend

the other idea was that the reflector makes a very nice bow tie!

I couldn't help noticing that for a magizine aimed at "amateurs" it doesn't actually tell it's readers how to use it's freebee, which seems an oversite to me, I suspect a lot of them wouldn't have a clue how to use it. or worse, fold it back up.

Folding it's easy, too much practice with various play tents and similar. As for using it, that's another matter entirely... But it's gonna be fun playing... I wonder if it'll look like a UFO if you throw it and take a shot  :D

 ...liking that idea a lot Matt... ...although that suspicious looking fella don't look so angelic to me... :suspect:

Frisbee... yay... :D

Let me know if it comes back on its own... :naughty:

:p

pfft, last seen on crimewatch UK eh??? I'm an angle I'll have you know!! :p although perhaps a little obtuse for some....

p.s had to up the flash level for this to work, the normal flash just perfectly exposed the reflector....sheesh!

well it didn't really reflect a lot
I assume that you need quite a strong natural or flash based light source to get some reflection
it looked more like a grey card to be honest.
I expected it to easily reflect, like you see on high vis jackets when you use a flash.
the camera just perfectly exposed and balanced the shot to show the detail on my face and that on the reflector.
bloody camera :p
the upshot of this is that the reflector absorbs light in the same my skin does...is that right? and I'm sure I was using the shinier/correct side too

Well imhgo I reckon the back of your saintly head will be perfickly well exposed... :suspect:

I also think the reflector should be the white one and was fully expecting an explanation in this weeks AP tbh...

Back to the drawing board room... for a swift one then... :naughty:
