Watching the Parliamentary investigation of the Murdochs on the TV - is Rupert Murdoch playing dumb or is he losing it? Can't really see him as a major media mogul on his responses so far.

Really! Fascinating stuff ... 2 x major police chiefs and various media super-executives being interrogated, best TV drama for ages. :)

No thanks. I'll read a summary in a newspaper tomorrow (not a Murdoch publication). The idea of watching slime "interrogating" other slime doesn't appeal to me.

Interesting that snr didn't consider £1million a sum significant enough for an underling to inform him that NOTW had to pay out in compensation, whereas his son opined that £20k, paid out in similar circumstances, was a lot of money....

Looks like paint on his face?

Looks like white paint or something - was that mickledore?? :D

That screengrab was better than Auntie's viewpoint.

That's because it's very important, it goes much deeper than a few z-list celebs having their phone hacked, it has the potential to bring down the government.

can you explain to me the government bit, I've missed out this bit as I was away all weekend and didnt hear the news? whats happened now? has newscorp been hacking camerons voicemail and listened to clegg whispering sweet nothings?

Personally I think Murdoch snr came across quite well there, junior, on the other hand, reminds me of a secondhand car salesman....

Thought Murdoch Snr came across as having dementia personally!

Cameron has been summoned to appear before the 1922 Committee to explain his relationship with Murdoch, Brookes et al, he's also been reported to the Cabinet Secretary for breaching section 1 of the Ministerial Code......

“Section 1.2.f of the code states: ministers must ensure that no conflict arises, or appears to arise, between their public duties and their private interests.

“It is therefore incumbent on the prime minister to avoid both actual or the appearance of a conflict of interest between decisions he should make as prime minister and his close personal relationship with Rebekah Brooks and James Murdoch"

I was expecting Murdoch snr to break into an Uncle Albert 'during the war' story at one point, you could see his son almost cringing. The son on the other hand swatted away everything pretty easily.

In truth all parties have been 'fraternizing' with them, Panorama last night highlighted a News International party attended by leaders of all parties ... only Alan Sugar walked out when Rupert Murdoch arrived apparently.

:D my thoughts exactly.

This is as much an insight into a big corporation as it is gaining helpful answers. As was stated, the NOTW represents 1% of the whole of Murdoch's empire. It is unlikely he would know a lot of this stuff. Brookes does however.

What it does highlight is the utter crud the so called legal advice these Corps get truly is. A QC advises how much as compensation for Clifford and Taylor? Where on earth did they come up with that? Typically nobody questions them and nobody will. These scum are the real parasites on our society and they should seriously be held accountable but never are!

Rebekah Brooks - where's the popcorn.

Arrested comedian says unwilling to comment on ongoing police enquiry :D

Murdoch on trial? When's the rest of the A team going to break in and save him?

'Selective dementia' perhaps, I wonder if he's a friend of Ernest Saunders?

Hey! Ernest Saunders - the only person ever to recover from Alzheimer's, he should be in a jar on a university shelf!

The only thing (imo) the Murdochs are sorry for is getting caught and it shows.

What I think is ridiculous is the fact that the member of the public got arrested for throwing
a foam pie (not exactly going to cause serious injury) yet Murdoch's wife didn't get arrested for punching him! She wasn't doing it in self defence because the pie wasn't thrown at her
