Anyone want to be a second shooter

My apologies then. I missunderstood what you were saying. However, your comments always seem to suggest that you don't believe these people are capable of doing it. At least they are trying and the point I was making is that we all start somewhere and we all take responsibility.

Nobody needs to hear that Pro togs think amateurs shouldn't try weddings. What they need to hear is helpful advice and perhaps friendly warnings. Not suggestions that they are inexperienced and should leave it for the pro's. Thats just complete bolxels

I am certainly not in a possition to criticise how people get into weddings. I might talk like I have experience but I don't. I have recently done my first two. No I have had no training. No I have not assisted anyone. No I have not acted as second shooter. I simply approached it as a business and made sure I knew what wa expected and that I could deliver before I agreed to it. Oh and both couples loved the results - anyone going to tell me that isn't what counts the most?

If any pro wedding togs think I shouldn't be doing it - well I don't really give a FF what they think. I am building a business and it is my business to do with as I please - succeed or fail I will have myself to thank or blame. I dont follow the usual rules.

I AM VERY SIMILAR TO YOU..TRYING TO BUILD A BUISNESS AND HOPEFULLT ONEDAY CAN GO FULL TIME....I appriciate where you was comimg from with someone elses photos in portfollio....MAybe i should have given so much info on the original post??? as i keep saying thats the way i was taught to stop any confusion for the B&G... but all things can be negotible ......STILL YOU LIVE AN LEARN..I WILL BE MORE VAUGE ON MY NEXT POST......BUT THEN I WILL BE MOANED OUT FOR NOT ENOUGH INFO LOL.....
 
whatever you do - just be you - not everyone will agree with you - but that's life - and debate is healthy - and friendly - at least I hope so. Much easier to convey thoughts just talking to people - things can come across the wrong way writing on forums - when they arn't meant to.

And the weddings i have done the B&G have been over the moon with the end result. with possible bookings from guests..so cant be that bad
 
No I think you're right. Just post and ask for a second shooter. It's then between you and them to work out the details.

First things first.......

I have been out with Jay (jimjam) before and it was so generous of him to let me come with him. I had been trying to get into weddings for a while and this was the perfect way for me to start.

Jay if your still after someone I will come and do it with you again. Having read this thread I understand now about using your kit and stuff, so if you want the help im free. Its all experience.

I have this sorted now...thanks for all the intrest....if i havnt replied to you i appoligise..i think i have but one or 2 may have slipped...

Ive decided after several pm's with GARY that as i have worked with him before it makes sense that we continue this relationship LOL... i wasnt sure he was available and he knows how i work....

i hope everyone understands as i wasnt misleading anyone... i will defenitly be after help in the future as GARY wont want to help me for ever.

I'm still intrigued to know why tog.2 couldn't use their own kit (assuming it was up to scratch)??:shrug:
