No
Just got mine, and was wondering what other people thought, and what software you are using on it.

And yes I Love It

waiting for Vodafone to show their prices then going to grab one :-)

How you getting on with the ipad pro ?? Was thinking of upgrading as my ipad 2 is getting rather old and very slow

£349 upfront £43 a MONTH although I can save around 25% on that as have relative who is a manager at the main centre :-) seems a lot though

That is not a great deal - and certainly not compared to the iPad Air I got a fraction under 2 years ago (also on an F&F deal).

Will wait and see that upfront cost hopefully drop down a fair bit. Might get an offer when I cancel the current plan for the Air !

That's because it is a LOT

I had an iPad 3, and now have an iPad Air 2. Other than the larger screen and pencil capability, can you tell me the benefit of it?
If I did get a Pro, I would want the optional keyboard and the pencil and that would add up to quite a bit extra on top of the higher priced iPad Pro.

Well if you get the 25% F&F deal then you are paying £1143 over 2 years (albeit with £380 of that on month 1) for an £899 iPad Pro with 10GB of data a month. Works out at £9.30 for the data per month on top of list price for the kit, and spreading much of the costs over the period.

So it isn't that bad if you look beyond the total list price cost. But as above I'd only upgrade if I was going to take advantage of the pen and maybe the keyboard so more £'s on top. Need a better deal from Vodafone really.

Yes with the discount is not bad, although its a very expensive tablet

Do you need the data per month? Wouldn't most connectivity be over wifi?

Having used the iPad Pro for the past week, I have no idea why you would buy one over a Surface 4 Pro.

Hiya,

I'll be getting one as soon as the Pencil becomes more widely available.

I intend to use Astropad on it to mirror my iMac, in order to use it more like a Cintiq for using Mylio, Lightroom, and Photoshop.

Also to use Mylio to import, catalogue, review, and edit images when out and about.

(Mylio supports RAW files, and syncs very well with Lightroom - so any edits made in Mylio sync with Lightroom - and vice versa once I'm back home).

Plus, to use the iPad for the usual media consumption uses.

I find it easier/prefer to use a tablet as a mobile device/lounging at home, particularly in places/situations where a laptop would be 'more awkward'. (I've got the new 2015 27" IMac Retina for my main machine when required).

I want to stay in the Apple ecosystem - it works for me.

Nothing wrong with other tablets, laptops etc etc. I think the IPad Pro will suit my needs the best.

Ta,
Shane :)

Everything you describe above as a workflow is why I think the iPad Pro is flawed.

I've used one, and although it's a nice piece of tech I couldn't really understand it's purpose, it's not a productivity workhorse in the same league as a macbook or PC, and isn't as portable so I can't see who it's aimed at.

And the 'zero-latency' pencil... well there's latency, not a massive amount but it's not as fluid as the adverts show, thats for sure! and it still no substitute for a Wacom Intuos in my opinion.

Still interested in what Apple intend to achieve with it though so will keep watching this space :)

Well, It'll should be a workflow that works well for me :) Fine to use it on the road for what 'I' need it to do, and use it in conjunction with my iMac when back at home.

It will be more portable than my missus' MacBook Pro 13 Retina - it's a 6.9mm thin 13" tablet, seems pretty manageable to me. The pencil should be fine for my use. Real world reviews/videos trying it out with the software/apps I will be using seem to confirm it.

I have played around with the Surface Pro 4 for a little while (a few demos from the MS rep for work) - and in fairness, it is a VERY nice machine - certainly the best of the Surface machines so far - it's just not what I desire, want or need.

Ta,
Shane :)

When I said portable I meant as in pickup and go, with the macbook I just grab it and walk off, with the iPad Pro I tended to be conscious of where I was applying pressure when I picked it up, this may just be me being overly cautious with applying pressure to a large screen :)

Anyway, its whatever device works for you, you've obviously thought about it and it would be great to post up your thoughts after you've used it for a bit as it would probably answer some questions that I'm sure a lot of users have, my experience of it was brief to say the least!

:)
