Anyone using "Animoto".....?

Same here - jury still out.

Haha - hadn't occured to me you can use Lightroom to create deliverable slideshows - lol, I guess that's what the "slideshow" tab does that I've never been in to.

I use Animoto for wedding previews only - for a DVD slide show I use proshow! Although Animoto has a wow factor it's not what I find the bride and groom want to see over and over again. It's a little too busy.
Couple of things worth noting:

1. Animoto do not supply hi res files that are in PAL format. Not an issue for lots of people whos TV's and DVD players can play NTSC but for some this will be a problem. You can convert them to PAL with third part software but it's a bit of a pain.
2. Max limit of 10 minutes on a video.
3. It has a tendency to crop your photographs so you may need to add a little bit of black around the edges before uploading them. Either that or risk the fact that your customer thinks you are chopping off heads, feet etc.

I have a few here:

I have to agree with all the comments, had a look at all the examples offered, and all look great. I suppose offering an Amimoto Video is "simply another tool in the toolbox" great for advertising and like Ali I would use Lightroom or Pro Show Gold to demonstrate retail work, as I would have greater control over displaying slides, ie be able to navigate backwards and forwards through the show.
That said for the money Amimoto for me is good value and I like the ability of been able to embed in my website easily.

think it's turd tbh, service they offer is a bit naff imho :)

I use it at work - a school to create simple presentations, the kids love it and the staff seem mighty impressed too. I really like it, and as a teacher you get the "pro" service for free which is a bit of a winner :)

A thumbs up from me.
