anyone using a Canon Pro9000 Mk2?

I do, it is spot on, great quality in colour, or black and white. Nice deep colours and blacks.

I use Hahnemuhle Baryta FB350 through mine using the Hahnemuhle profiles and am very pleased with the results.

super, have ordered one, printing at home is something I have always been interested in but I am not intending on making money from it, mainly family and friends and they will chip in to help the running costs, so I didnt want to fork out a fortune nor did I want a standard £40 jobbie I would be disappointed in..

looking forward to a 13 x 19 of the family

WOW.. pretty impressed, done a few borderless A4 prints using Canon photo plus glossy II 275 gsm(best stuff I could get quick) and I am immediately sold and more important;y so is the wife  she says it reminds her of the time I moved from a kit lens to my first 'L' glass. the difference was huge and cost justified.

Make sure you shop around for replacement inks David, They are not cheap when the time comes to replace them.

you stay away its your fault I purchased a printer..:razz:

 just kidding I had been thinking about it for ages, you just confirmed its something I wanted to explore. wish there wasn't one of the Color Munki's for sale in classifieds though as I am proper skint til new year now..

£80 odd quid for set of Canon inks which IMO could be a lot worse, could be better, will have to see what the print count averages.

have you heard of Paper Spectrum off Abbey Lane Keith? apparently they are pretty good.

Paper Spectrum ?
Good for inks or paper?
I use a Permajet cis & inks in my Epson printer, I dont think there are any decent ones available for the 9000, If you want to see the Colour Munki in action Dave, you are more than welcome to nip round & i can run thru' it with you.

Paper Spectrum do all supplies and (apparently) they will sort out a profile for you if you use their paper..

looked into Permajet before I purchased, they don't do Canon but I still wanted the Canon printer.. I have found one system from City Ink Express that I might have a look at in the future.

Have had this printer for about 18 months and it has never failed to amaze me.
superb colours, super black and white, and if the printer head clogs up ( mine never has ) you can simply take it out for cleaning, try doing that with an epson.

Once you start using 'non genuine inks' you may not have warranty cover if something goes wrong. Your choice.

I did compare the Canon printer to the Epson R2880 at Calumet and thought the Epson to have the edge. It's never been switched off and only had genuine inks, which produce superb prints. I'm sure the Canon will serve you well, but stick to genuine inks in the warranty period.
