Hello all.
I'm looking to get a couple of external power packs for my Nikon Speedlites.
The Quantum packs are very expensive, and I cannot justify that sort of spend for the amount I would use them.
Came across these on the Bay :

Made by Yongnuo, they take 8 x AA batteries, and look OK for the money.
Any-one got any experience of them?
Thanks in advance,
Gary.

On youtube I saw the Shoot version being used (its the same) and it works very well.
At that price I think its a no brainer. You will have to check how many times you can shoot the flash before you need to let it rest a while (this could be at full power only mind)

Looking at the spec, there are 2 models, the 17 and the 18.
The 18 says you can fire 20 full power shots continuously before resting the flash for 10 mins. I don't see myself doing that sort of sequence anyway, so I think you're right, it is a no - brainer.
i'll order a couple and see how I go I think.

I have both the Shoot and Yongnuo versions, they both work perfectly, but the Yongnuo has a better fit to the battery door and would be the one I'd recommend.

OK, I have ordered a couple of the Yongnuo units. Thanks for the comments acetone.
I'll post back on here when they arrive and I have used them.
Thanks all.
Gary.

Anything Yongnuo make seem to be fine. My understanding is that when you plug one of these in to your flash the batteries in the power pack supply power to flash the unit & the batteries in the flash are used for the display & the flashgun.
