Anyone used the pickup option on Amazon?

I was just ordering some new headphones and a displayport adaptor (why this thread is in this forum...) when the option to have it delivered to a pickup location was given. I haven't seen that before, anyone used it?

I'm just wondering how big a thing you can order... Monitors and computer components for example?

I think Amazon have a few depots, it may depend what you are ordering.

I have never seen this option.

I've not seen this on Amazon but have just had to return a hard drive to Dabs.com and was given the option to drop it off at a local shop that is a 'Collect+' depot - it saves me waiting for a courier to call, and I would assume that delivery could be made to the same place for me to collect at a time that suits me too. I was given a receipt to prove I had left it so assume it is on its way safely in the couriers van.......
Sounds like a great idea, and I don't see why any size parcel a courier can deliver cannot be left - it then becomes your problem to collect it...
