Never used those type. i like to use things called pocketwizards. Sure they are expensive BUT they are very very good.

I had a set before I got all my Nikon flash gear, worked great. I ended up giving it to Toothie on here when I got the Nikon gear, AFAIK she's still using it. Now that I'm downgrading back to a bridge camera and cheaper flashes I'll be getting another set of these. I think they're great.

That set was £11...which is just a wee bit cheaper than a set of Pocket Wizards :bang:

Mind you Pocket Wizards still end up working out cheaper in the long run and the pain from having to stump up the cash goes away...........eventually

How do pocket wizards end up working out cheaper?

Ahhhhh, me dreams of pocket wizards.

Thanks for the comments. If they don't work at least it's not a fortune spent.

I'm after a lens before I buy pocket wizards. Maybe I can manage the wizards around easter time.

Because they are more reliable, so you don't end up having to keep replacing dead receivers or transmitters and they hold their value secondhand - have a look at the prices for used pocket wizards on Ebay and you'll see what I mean

If that set doesn't work then there are loads of new types coming out all the time and if Cherryrig was here he'd be jumping up and down mouthing the word "Skyports" right about now

Well i work on the following, if im gonna get something i want to get good stuff. I tried these cheaper ones and sure they work and sometimes dont but the time and money you spend on getting better cheaper types to improve you could of splashed out on some pocketwizards.
I mean the pocketwizards where the best investment into remote flashes i ever got as they work with ANY flash unit as long as it has a sync port :)

Has someone reported the cheap ebay ones packing in on a regular basis then? I never had any problem with mine but admittedly I didn't have it that long (6 mths). I did know the pocket wizards hold their value I just haven't heard/read anything about the cheap ones packing in regularly. After just having another quick search on google I still can't see anything about these triggers dying or failing.

To be honest for just trying off-camera flash (as long as it works when it arrives) I think they are a good bargain. If I enjoy doing the off-camera stuff then it will be time to properly invest.

No point me getting pocket wizards if I only use them once or twice.
