Yes
I'm going to Cornwall for a week over Easter with my good lady and kids. I expect we'll do a lot of walking along the coast. I would like to get a smallish shoulder bag that can hold

- 1Ds MKII with a 17-40L attached
- 2 other lenses from 24-105L, 50L, 85L, 135L depending on how I feel that day
- Filters and spare battery and cards etc

I want the bag to be as small as possible to get all the kit in but making sure it is protected ok. I've already got a rucksack and it takes too long for me to get things in and out.

The idea of the holiday is for everyone to get away and have a break. If I can grab some shots along the way, all well and good but it isn't the main focus of the holiday.

So I think a smaller bag would be acceptable rather than a big bag with all my kit in. To this end I've been looking at the smaller Lowepro Stealth Reporter series of bags. Anyone had any experience of these that they would care to share? Could I get the kit I want in the Stealth Reporter D100 AW? Any other suggestions?

Cheers

Nobody used these bags?

Hi, I had the same problem, my tamrac carries everything including the kitchen sink.
When I went to Focus on Imaging I bought the Lowepro flipside 200 for £60.
It holds my DSLR with 70-200 fixed, flashgun, 50m and 1.4 converter.
Easy, light and comfortable, sometimes I forget its on my back

I had a stealth reporter 200aw last year, sold it as I prefer the balance of a rucksack when hiking

when I advertised it I thought it would be a good idea to see how much of my kit I could squeeze in and it was able to accommodate my 40D with 24-70 attached with hood reversed, 70-200 f/4 with hood reversed, 17-40, 50mm 1.4, 580EXII and case

I'm not convinced you'd be able to get all that in a '100'

Hope this helps bud

I've got a Stealth Reporter 100AW, not the 'D' model, but probably about the same size. I reckon you would get body+lens, plus one other lens in it.

Thanks for that Brian, but I think I'm after a smallish messenger-style shoulder bag rather than a backpack:thumbs:

Many thanks for that, that rules out the 100 as that's not big enough:thumbs:

Thanks for the picture, very helpful. I think all my get will get in there.

From that pick though the bag does look quite fat, is it that deep in real life?

TIA

I've got a Stealth Reporter D200AW and I posted a mini review here www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=111256
At the time I forgot about the little wallet that holds storage cards.
Since I've purchased mine I have also bought a 430EX II.
I now store my 55-250mm and hood in a Lowpro lens case that fits to the side of the case so that I can fit my 18-55mm and rocket blower.

Obviously on a daily basis I didn't need to take all the kit when we did shore excursions and I found the bag very comfortable.
However, I do prefer to wear it across my shoulder than over my shoulder.
I actually prefer it to my slingshot as it's easier to change lenses on the move.

Hope this helps.

Hey, i thought i've just put in my tuppenceworth.

I was looking at the stealth reporter, but didnt like the £70 - £80 price tag.

I was looking at the redsnapper website and have just ordered the redsnapper SY519 - http://www1.clikpic.com/Redsnapper/photo_1111880.html.

Cost £42.90 inc postage & packaging, Plus i will get a 10% refund as im a TP member.

I will try and put in a review if anyones interested, as i was looking for reviews on it but couldnt find any, but thought i just take the plunge anyway, as folk rave on about quality of their stuff. :)

Fotosense are usually fine but check that they actually have them in before you buy over the internet. Give them a quick call first, Their stock indicators are not always accurate.

I recently got a Lowepro Stealth D400 AW for £49.00 from Ffords. Not sure if they have any 200's in though.

Chris :)
