Anyone used jessops stuff before?

Hi
I have used this kit, its pretty good for the money, not a match for the more expensive makes, BUT I used 1 for quite a while with no problem at all. The only thing extra that you will need is a trigger, unless you want to use wired to the pc socket of your camera.

You pays your money & takes your choice, but you could do a whole lot worse.

Its just a means to an end for a while .. looking to get more kit after xmas then this can be used for something else or can be handed down to friends etc

ive looked for triggers on jessops but cant seem to find any to match this kit :(

Also bare in mind that it's not Jessops kit, so you might find it cheaper elsewhere.

Wicked, thanks for the heads up will hunt down the triggers etc as long as its lasts a few months cant complain about the low cost

this is somewhere that you would be wise to spend a little more. You will outgrow this in not very much time and it is rather under powered..

But I guess not a bad introduction to studio lights. but do check out, Lecarta's Smartflash kit.. much better build and more light per head too.

looks to be the trigger that sells with the kit in the bundle etc...

spend the extra money and get either an elemental genesis (fantastic lights) or lencarta smartflash set.

The colour, light output and the amount of modifiers that you can get for these is far better, whereas the cheaper lights really won't give great performance, and they don't resell for much as so many people upgrade from them!

ive looked on the genesis site do seem to get more for your money i may have a second look on there site would like a kit that has everything with it like the triggers etc will have a look..

elemental do kits, dunno about triggers (just checked and they do supply them)

you get to build the kit which is handy

I'll second the Elemental Genesis lights, great piece of kit.

Actually, the price of the Jessops kit isn't even cheap - they do give you a free 5 in 1 reflector with it but it isn't worth anything near the £40 they say it is, and by the time you've added `a radio trigger (which should be included anyway) it will cost as much as much better lights.

You can buy a SmartFlash 2 head kit for £250, that's much better value IMO

Don't listen to Garry he's one of Lencarta's lighting henchmen ;)

joking Garry, yeah he does know what he's talking about though and check the Lencarta Youtube channel to see the lights in action in case your not sure. You can do alot with a two light kit and I hear nothing but good reviews with Lencarta :)

ive watched quite a few more or less all there vids on youtube im gonna go with lencarta kit.. im gonna go with the two head kit and will upgrade the power of the units to the 400

Don't save it for too long though, they fill up very quickly...

i will be booking after new year for sure mate its very cheap for a full day i think will be money well spent

Glad you made the right choice. I looked at the same kit in Jessops, then had a recommendation for Jonathan Ryan.. Build quility and what the kit contains makes it a winner. I am sure you will be very happy with it.
