Anyone use Photo Ninja for RAW processing?

I'm a Lightroom user (and very happy with it) but am just trialling Photo Ninja as I wanted to compare Noise Ninja reduction to the methods I am currently using (mainly Nik Dfine).

The Photo Ninja approach to RAW processing seems very different to other products I have used and my initial results are promising. Before I spend a lot of time getting into it, does anyone use it regularly and would you recommend it over LR?

If you search the web there are many comparasons between software and the topic has been discussed a lot here too. My personal opinion is that topaz denoise works best, noise ninja is ok but I wouldn't recommend it over lightroom 3.

I've been using Photo Ninja for a few weeks and Lightroom 4. Photo Ninja is very impressive. I don't think Lightroom 4 comes close to it's highlight recovery and fine detail. Nothing else I've tried comes close either, so it's not just Lightroom. There's more to it though, I can't quite put my finger on it, images take less effort to reach the desired results and the final result has better reproduction of light and detail.

I know many people are very impressed with it. I'm in a bit of a quandary, I know I'll have to have Lightroom 4 as I love many of its features but Photo Ninja is just too good not to have. I'll probably end up getting both Trouble is I can only afford one at the moment.

It's going to be very exciting to see where Picture Code take PN.

I know just what you mean, some of the ways it handles the files (like, as you say, the highight recovery) seem light years ahead. I really like the 'Exposure and Detail' filter too, it seems so easy to get great results. I'd really miss Lightroom's local adjustments though...

I think I'll persevere with it, when it grows up a bit it could be awesome.

And that illumination slider is just amazing. I love the way you can link all the exposure sliders together and they compensate for each other. Very clever. Having never created RAW processing software before I read that they naturally approached the whole RAW processing thing from a different angle. That seems to have delivered a brilliant RAW converter. Amazing what they've done for V1 software. They're bringing batch processing next. I'd love some local editing options. Not sure how feasible that would be though.

Photo Ninja users need a place or thread to discuss and share tips. I know Picture Code are thinking of creating a forum.

As for Lightroom 4. I may hold on to see what Apple have up their sleeve. I suspect we'll see Aperture 4 in the next few months. As a Mac user I'd be interested in seeing what it's like.
