Might have to send a lens into Lehmans in Stoke on Trent for service/repair work, anyone used them, whats the level of service like.

Gary

Last year I sent my 400D to them. I suspected a fault on the camera. It had no warranty so I would have to pay.
They fully checked it out and there was no fault, so they sent it back with no charges whatsoever.
Highly recommended.

Keith.

Thanks Keith, do you still suspect you have a fault with the camera.

Ive just rung them and am going to drive the 90 miles down there, dont really want to post a 5K lens.

I used them maybe 16 months ago for a repair to my 10D. I'd blown it up using one of the focus-confirm adapters for an M42 lens.

They fitted a new main circuit board, full clean and focus re-calibration for about £142.00 IIRC.

Top service and I'd definitely be happy to use them again.

No, there was no fault, it was a missunderstanding on my part!
When I initially phoned them, I spoke to a courteous and helpful person - I was well impressed!

Keith.

I agree with the above, courteous, helpful, reasonably priced. The only problem is parking near the shop (which is very old fashioned, just a glass front and a full length counter and lots of old posters). I found it better to park up on one of the side streets either side of the shop as the nearest car park is a 10 minute walk along one of the ugliest most rundown streets I've ever been on.

Yes used them quite a few times, very good service and quality of work is superb.

hi gary.

i sent my 20d there with an ERROR99 problem, had a new shutter mechanism fitted, and they gave it a full service and whatever it needed.
FIRST CLASS SERVICE AND VERY HELPFULL.
i would recomend them to anyone, infact the turn around was quicker than canon could do it.
top class.

cheers paul

I have used them 8 weeks after getting my 40d due to the shutter dying, warrenty repair, came back in full working order within a couple of days. Guys i spoke to on the phone there were excellent and very knowledgeable!

I sent them an email about a lens repair a couple of months ago.............no reply yet :(

This is the only problem with them that I have found, they usually send back an e-mail saying to either phone them or visit the shop.

Thats strange, i was emailing a guy called Don Till who was very helpful, we must have passed 10 emails between us in a space of a few hours before i decided to take my gear in

Joxby, PM me and ill give you Dans direct email address

Just got back from the 190 mile return journey, very helpful folk, went through the back to use the Loo and had a quick look round, If you were to try and describe what you think a camera reapir man were to look like you would be spot on, they just look like they know cameras inside out.

I just send my gear to cps but lehmans serviced my 1dsmk2 just before I got it and its spot on.

I'm a CPS member and they have seriously let me down twice. I will never use them again.

I now use Fixation and have been really pleased with the very high level of service and customer care.

Gawd, I'm gonna give Lehmans a shot cos I've heard all sorts of aggro going down with Fixation.......

But i wouldnt dream of sending a brand new MKIII and an as new MKII-N and a 400mm L IS USM F/2.8 through the post, theres as near as sod it 10K worth of kit there and would cost a darn sight more to post than the total cost of my trip yesterday, 4 and a bit gallons of Diesel for peace of mind.

I have used them a few times, and they have been more than helpful. Infact they pulled the stops out once when I had a back die 3 days before i was to fly out to Cuba fo a shoot, and they didnt charge me any extra for doing the pretty tricky repair, by return. Impressive
