Hi Guys,

Has anyone on here shot at Lydden Hill (without a media pass)? I never really see anything come out from the rally cross or drifting that they have so I'm just wondering if the viewing/shooting isn't that great?

Not for a few years, but last time I went there it was pretty good from the spectator side and you could get into the pits, might have helped that I know a couple of the drivers
but if I remember right they were open.
If I can find them I'll dig out a couple of pictures

I made my first trip down to Lydden this year. Its a good circuit from a spectator point of view. I was pleasantly surprised, I didn't have media, but found that even with a 70-200 on FF, there were a good selection of different angles to work and the World RX cars are great value.
Its open, fence free viewing, and definitely worth a trip if you have chance

Thank you for the comments both, it sounds hopeful!

MattyW, awesome shot and interesting angle. :)

Lydden is one of the best places in the UK for motosport photography as there are almost no fences

And if you are going to watch Rally Cross almost always entertaining.

Thank you David, it does sound like it should be a good venue for shooting, looking forward to heading down there for drift and rally cross events next year!

Yes Lydden is awesome for the RallyX . I only popped in there on the Saturday of the World event earlier this year, after winning tickets through Autosport and loved it. I used a 300mm for this shot across from Chessons towards the startline.

Thank you Sam, I've learnt one hell of a lot from the experts on here over the last couple of years ;)
