Bit of a result then!

I was losing hope.. TP to the rescue..again..

On a slightly related note.. The SUN newspaper sent me a payment notification today.. for a picture I never took at a match I never attended... From one extreme to another or what? :)

Just to clear this up.. Got paid today from two online usage.. one from ages ago... Finally... all sorted..

PS Thanks Graham ;-)

Im still struggling to get paid from the Times/Sunday Times so if anyone has a contact at those papers who could help id appreciate it

Glad you got sorted Tony, im owed almost £300 for 2 print and 2 web usages

As I understand none of the nationals pay automatically (unlike print) for on-line use, you need to invoice them. This was told to me by one of the agencies I use to work for. If this is correct it means you need to checkout all the websites for usage.

The guy who dealt wiht me told me it will happen automatically from now on.. now I am on the system.. What annoys me is.. Why did I need to chase.. all the info they needed was in the itpc.. they didnt need anymore.. so why didnt they just do it.

Seems first use you ahve to chase.. get onto system then all auto.. other papers (not web use) pay me auto and i dont have to check (but do) just these for web which was playing silly billy

I had the Daily Mail ask for pictures from their own school Daily Mail Cup U18 Rugby competition last week for web use. When i asked what they paid for such use, they said they didn't pay. I told them in that case I won't be sending in any pictures. I did ask the guy if he worked for nothing but I don't think he saw the point. The pictures were used elsewhere and paid for. Their loss.

Two of the guys I work with have both had photos used on mailonline (not printed) and they were both paid, one got £250 for a set of 5, and the other was £1000 for a single shot.

For the royal wedding!!!!!!!

Nah. Too much coverage from the subscription agencies. At that price it'll be a Celeb shot I would think.

However be very surprised if the DM paid a grand for a photo and didnt use it in print!

associated newspapers online are simply the worst payers

emails to head of accounts, directors etc are pointless

only way is to make a big loud noise and hope someone listens

I am currently owed about £2k again, despite promises this would not happen again after Euro2012

The annoying aspect is that this great company made every supplier sign a new contract stating that they adhered to self-billing. Conspiracists would suggest a VAT fiddle - claim off the VAT man but never pass on to your contributors. Others would state lazy people. with only about 30% of images bylined, some stripped of IPTC info, the only positive is that there are more bloggers to chase for thieving the images via google image search.

I had to send photos to them on behalf on someone I was working for after the Surrey Schools 7s a couple of years ago. They then called up a few days later asking where the images were. I said I had sent them the same day as the event, but apparently whoever was in the office first thing the next day had just deleted all the over night emails. Apparently a 'normal practise'..............!!! Worrying.
