Its actually going beyond a joke now... Damian Greene in the news as police found porn on his computer... oh yes, lets string him up now. Its not like everyone has looked at porn have they? I mean, I am sure everyone on here can honestly say they haven't looked at porn.

It will be a case of what porn. Child abuse porn is very illegal and for a good reason. 'General' porn is not illegal and the police will take no notice of it.

There will be a reason why the police were looking on his computer. It is not something they do for no reason - they cannot even get access to someone's computer without good reason.

(And no, I have never looked at porn. Never had a need to.)

Well, there was no mention of child porn in the reports.

On a work computer, do you look at porn on a work computer? If I did I would be sacked.

"Former Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner Bob Quick said on Sunday that his officers had found pornographic material on Mr Green's computer in his Commons office after they searched it as part of their controversial investigation - which resulted in no charges."

From BBC News web site. It relates to 2008, not to any current investigation. So what was the relevance of your post?

This is the article on Damian Green from the Independent.

So, it wasn't "illegal" pornography, and according to Green it wasn't a "private" computer. Why didn't this come out nine years ago, instead of now? I do however agree with Steve, that viewing pornography in the workplace would likely get you sacked.

Yes, and thats a matter for the employers - i.e. the HR team at the Commons. Why we need this reporting though is beyond me. On

Interesting point was at my last company I was studying for my photography degree and had a Nan Goldin book delivered to work, along with a few others. Someone decided to report me to HR, when they spotted it in the pile on my desk, who luckily told them to grow up

I was on Jim'll fix it as a kid and wasn't molested. I must have been an ugly child :(

I ran past him at the 1987 London marathon (he was dressed in a rather understated gold lame tracksuit) and he never tried to grab me, but then I was around 15 years outside his preferred upper age limit and a ginge to boot, so was not really "at risk".

Mind you, I now feel "potentially" violated.

First victim of the feeding frenzy. Whilst I agree that taking allegations of sexual harassment, assault needs to be taken seriously, I think its time to step back a little and not take punitive action against someone until the allegations have been proved.

Quite right and there is also a massive difference between serious sexual offences and 'behaving improperly' which have been the reason for action against some people (like the young Labour guy the other week who called someone an ugly bitch). Not sure what this guy was accused of but to make this all so public is wrong IMO until you have been found guilty. Even if he was found to be totally innocent it would still have damaged his reputation and many would have the opinion of 'no smoke without fire' so another life ruined.
