So it's just a little topic by me, wondering who else on here enjoys getting out on the bike (Human powered).

I know i do, and i have two, relatively well specced mountain bikes. First is my hardtail, a DMR trailstar, with RS pikes, raceface gear, hope all round, mavic rims, and easton finishing kit, a similar build to my big bike, my commencal mini DH. Don't have any pics of my DMR, but here;s one of my commencal.

Come on! share what you guys ride (If you do) and what type of riding you like to do (From anything from road riding, to full on DH). :)

Intense Tracer (proper old skool ;) ) built with Easton, XTR/XT, mavic, hope and Manitou bits and bobs.

It's a reasonably lightweight XC full sus bike that's comfortable to ride on all day epics

Don't have a mountain bike as I'm an old traditionalist:), I ride a 1982 Dawes Super Galaxy touring bike, still in mint condition, I also have an older unfinished 1966 Super Galaxy restoration project, hence my forum name:)

Both bikes were hand made in England, unlike the Dawes bikes of today which are made in China.

I used to be into my street and a little bit of dirt jumping a few years ago. I got back into it in Easter when I was given a Trek Bruiser frame to build up, unfortunately the project has been temporarily abandoned when I slipped whilst removing one of my Hope disc rotors and nearly sliced my damn finger off :( I will finish it one day :p

I have posted these pictures of my bike before in TP, but since you asked so nicely, here it is again. :D :)

It's a classic US-syle "Retroglide", I've had the pedal gear and rear wheel sproket changed to give me a lower gear rating for easier uphill riding. Along with new metallic pedals as my feet kept slipping off the former plastic ones.
So this would make it as a rather unique bike. I just love the chunkiness and solid built feel of it, where the saddle is like sitting on an armchair!
While it's not classed as a mountain bike, it's great for that leisurely ride along the seafront.

Haven't ridden for a while but this is my Xcountry bike Orange Sub3 with Pace RC36, Hope hubs and brakes, XT and loads of X-lite bars/stems etc
high seat as i am 6ft 3"

also have a Colnago Master Xlite race bike as well with mavic and ITM millennium bars

I've just bought one. Giant something or others. 2nd hand from hire shop. Picking it up in 3 weeks, as that the earliest they can release it. Full service before I get it. Itching to go now

Its in good nick, apart from a few scratches.

I have a GT avalanche 2.0 (2007) no pics though, it's almost new still, only been out on it twice.

I've got a Scott Gambler FR10 but haven't used it for a couple of months with being too busy at weekends!

Carl.

Here is mine. I dont do serious MTBing, I just ride to the shops and back or emmas and back lol.

Cue 'you could have cleaned it etc' jokes.

I am a roadie frastrated by injury meaning i cant actually race. But i have Scott very light weight racer, with Carbon forks, drops, stems, seat post, and seat. Dura ace groupset, with shallow rim areo wheels, with an 11-21 racing gearing, with michelin pro 19mm slick tyres, etc.

Very fast, but still miss my full carbonfibre racer though

no brakes - saves weight
Plastic air filled seat also to save weight
Plastic wheels and frame for the "crumple" suspension.

Regards, James :D

Specialized Enduro - Fox - Hope. Just sold a Scott hardtail frame too, and have a Trek roadbike. Used to be seriously into MTBing - twice a week, day or night, rain or shine. Been a while now, post kids, but still have the intention to get out again...someday!

all these bike makes mine look shameful
I have a hardtail Saracen Vortex LE only got it over the summer. I like to go riding in the peaks with it. often doing 30-40 mile trips.
The stock tyres are pants, the brakes are spongy.

When I saw the thread title, I thought you were referring to 'Motor Torpedo Boats'. Oops - is my generation gap showing? :bonk:

Anthony.

my bike is a laugh, its got no suspension, its old, but it all works perfectly and its great fun

yeh im slow down the trails but i have a great time!

its just annoying the nights have drawn in as id like to get out on it but im not really confident enough yet for nightriding!

No pictures of it that I can share at the moment... there's a TP monthly comp to consider. I have a Specialized Hardrock sport. It's a hardtail and serves me well, (it got me round a 100 mile ride this year.) My employer is just starting to sort out signing up to the Cycle to Work scheme, when they do I'll be getting a road bike for the 26 mile round trip commute. Hopefully next year.

Just got myself a Giant Reign X0 - previously had a Tomac 98 Special, but wanted something with a bit more travel. I have broken two ribs and sprained my wrist in the last few months so maybe I should have stuck with the Tomac! In the meantime bought a Nikon D40, hopefully should keep me out of A&E!

This is my first post - hope to get some photos up soon.

Giant Trance 3

Don't have time to ride anymore, not been on it in months and months.
