As noted in another thread my wife has invented a dance/aerobics class that looks like it could become popular. She is a fully trained and insured yoga teacher, but not a dance teacher. Does anyone know how it would be best to go about getting the correct insurance for this kind of thing? She's not marketing it as an exercise class as such, in much the same way as Zumba isn't.

I would get her to check with her current insurers (not sure which body she's with) and see how extensive her current cover is. My wife is also a Yoga teacher and also teaches a non-Yoga class, although that class does have some elements of Yoga as a basis. She's fully covered for that. Not sure exactly how it's all worked out but the insurance through the BWY also apparently covers her studio to some extent, although other teachers using the space have to have their own cover.

That's a good point. She is currently covered with the BWY so well worth checking out.

Thanks for your thoughts also, Neil.
