Yes
If you've bought a Canon 60d please can you post what your first impressions are, and how you're getting on with it? I'm interested to hear both the good and bad. Also it would be great to know what you were using before and the differences you've noticed - previous 400d users are especially welcome!

Please only post if you own a 60d, I'm not really after speculation based on reading spec sheets or 'my mate has one and he says...'.

Thanks everyone! :)

I am also thinking about upgrading my 400d for a 60d. will keep an eye on this post.

I have one I bought it 3 weeks ago and I have been really busy with work so not had a lot of time to get to grips with it, I have a 450D so not too different from a 400D.

I love the screen it's bigger and clearer and it folds away so less chance of scratching it in the bag etc.

It's a bit heavier and physically bigger than the 450D but not too heavy to use easily, I can't use the bigger heavier cameras as I have dodgy wrists.

I like the fact that it can do video although that wasn't a must have for me.

I am off on holiday next week so I will be giving it a good testing and will hopefully have some decent shots to post.

I also bought a new lens (Sigma 18 - 250) so will be travelling lighter with just the camera, new lens and my Sigma (10-20mm) I think.

Any questions feel free I will try to answer them...

Hello,

I went from a 450D to the 60D...

I was waiting for ages for a 50D from a supplier and needed a camera asap.

Initial impressions, great! (for me anyway).. The layout is simple to get used to. Have used the following lens'
17-85 IS, 17-40L, 50mm 2.5 compact macro, 50mm 1.8 MkII, 70-200L f4 IS..

All with great difference to the 450D.

Had a good walk around and I wouldn't say the flip view is well used by myself.

I have done several studio shoots and sat playing with the different modes and personally I am using it on M all the time..

I have just bought a grip (BG-E9) which have just come down in price and despite being that little bit smaller than say the 50D, depends if you have spade hands or not?!

I know many out there use ff rather than APS sensors etc and some reviews in my view scorn it a tad, for my level of photography, am very chuffed I made the purchase!!

Thanks for the replies! :)

A couple of follow up questions - have any of you noticed any benefit from the new metering system?

Thanks for the feedback on the body size, I was curious about the extra size and weight and the difference it makes in everyday usage. I have fairly small hands so it sounds like it will work well for me.

Chris - Have you noticed any AF improvement over your old camera, especially at wider apertures and in low light? I reckon I'll be doing a reasonable amount of shooting at under f/2.8 at about ISO3200.
