Anyone Had a bad Canon 1000D?

to be honest I still feel a bit miffed that so many of you slagged the lens or my inexpeirence before doubting the camera body itself.

Don't be miffed! We're just advising based on the odds! Since I've been here, almost all of the problems similar to yours have been due to the lens, user error, or a combination of both. Without being able to physically use it like you could, we could only make a best guess.

It seems you're in a minority where it really is a body issue, so sorry if you were offended, just doing the best we could under the circumstances!

Sorry guys I didnt mean to come across ungreatful for the advice given, and I'm sure that this camera seems a huge improvement, things will only get better. I just wished now I had read the reviews on the 75-300 before I bought this bundle, but I was more focused on the camera itself. Is the 55-250 that much better or should I say sharper? I also noticed that this has IS.

Glad you sorted it out, and it just goes to show sometimes 'the bad workman blames his tools' adage isn't always true.

I owned a 55-250 IS for my 1000D and it is a really nice lens for the money, haven't owned a 75-300, but almost everything I've read puts the 55-250 ahead of it.
