When BBC move their website away from using flash, and other big companies are bound to follow, you can really say the days of flash are starting to look numbered!
As I have said before, it seems funny every slating the IPad as a big ipod touch and then going on about wanting an android tablet.
If ipad tablets are useless, surely android ones will be too?
Apple have changed the game, everyone else is now playing catch up, and a lot of buggy stuff is going to go out as an effort to compete as soon as possible.
It doesn't do everything the netbook does either though and it's a lot more expensive.
What do you need the ipad to do that it can't compared to a netbook? Look at some of the apps that are now available for the Iphone. You can now take payment from customers on it, and Ipad will have a better version of tools like this no doubt. Model release software on there, where the model can sign and you have a digital copy there and then. cpl shots of ID from Iphone, bluetooth over job done, no paperwork.
On the train and fancy browsing a book go ahead. On a 8 hour flight, well watch a movie, read a bit of a book, play a few games, flick through half a dozen magazines, listen to some music. When you arrive and pick up your hire care, use the sat nav app and get to your hotel. When I am there I can use an app to check what happened in F1 qualifying as I missed it due to my flight. All on one device! This has never been done before on a device with such ease of use.
Ease of use is amazing. I don't care that I can't put on what i want and have to use software, App store gives me the choice of what I want or need in an intuitive format. The Ipad will speed up the death of flash as websites of major companies will not risk the millions of Ipad owners going to other sites, as demonstrated by the BBC move, that is fact.
So now you can add IPlayer to the list, and multi tasking for all of you who have to do two things at once such as word and excel.
I have a feeling that the iPad, and the Android/windows versions when they come out will kill off the netbook! and future versions will kill the need for many average people to not need a laptop or desktop either. This kind of thing is the future of computers.
I'll end my rant with a prediction! Visit this thread in 5 years and see how I did!:
42 inch tv on wall, with 5TB HDD, all movies stored and sold are via the net as speeds will go up enough to make blu ray quality quick enough to click dl then play and experience no glitch.
1 HDMI out to connect to sound systems.
2 in for other things such as cameras etc.
Controller will be a touch screen phone sized thing.
Games controller to match.
Amazing next gen gaming again dl to buy
full net and email on it
Any content you need will be accessible over the net.
All in one system
Operating on a user friendly intuative system.
State of the art styling (whatever that may be in 5 years)
The name that will be on that will be Apple.
