I was thinking of moving there in the new year and was looking at train routes into london for work. The route planner claims you can go from WGC straight into Moorgate which would be perfect for me, but i cant see any overground station at moorgate, just the underground. So anyone from there? is the train site telling fibs?

What a strange question. Of course there's a station there. The Great Northern line splits at Finsbury Park, with one branch going into Kings Cross and the other into Moorgate.

Why is it strange to try to double check something?

not really strange, i walk past moorgate every day to work and all i see is the entrance to the tube. I just wasnt sure how an overland train gets in there. Just wanted to clarify things before i upped sticks and moved house to somewhere i might not be able to get into work from. Seemed sensible to me.

Thanks for the less strange replies :) its a help.

Maybe Stewart finds it a strange question because in just 5 seconds and typing

Moorgate Station into google gives this link as the first link on google

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moorgate_station

The first paragraph stated its a railway terminus that links Central London to various places one of which is WGC

So I guess maybe it was seen as a strange question as in a shorter time than it would take to start a thread the answer could be had

And Wikipedia is always accurate.

I thought it a strange question because the OP had done his research, he'd found the railway timetable planning system telling him there were trains into Moorgate... but he didn't believe it. Isn't that strange?

By the way, my wife and I are thinking of going on holiday to South Africa next year, and we're looking at flight options - but can anyone confirm that there really is a airport at Cape Town? I mean, the British Airways website says there is, but you never really know, do you?

I'm sure if you was genuinely stuck there are 'some' really lovely friendly people here to help you! ;)

Obviously you might get the odd obnoxious difficult arse too ;) :D

I can confirm there is, as flown into Cape Town International a couple of times. Just don't get it mixed up with Thunder City, as you might have a close encounter with a lightning!! (Actually, same runway is used!)

By the way, if you want to stay in the friendliest place in cape town, (with views of the V&A, and Robben Island) I fully recommend Bluegum Hill Guest House run by the ever so lovely Aissa.

OK, I think Ashley has his answer. If I had a pound for every person that asked a question on here that could be easily be answered with google, I sure as hell wouldn't be wasting time modding, I'd be out splashing the cash in nice places. As always, either be friendly and just answer the question or click away please folks.

Mind the doors
