Anyone for Coffee?!..

This sort of thing has been around for years, something to do with the digestive system of said animals removing acids from the beans.

Only like eating offal at the end of the day, never have been able to stomach liver & kidney etc :)

Eh? This practice has been going on for years. Same as the old using monkeys to pick tea as they only go for the freshest leaves / buds etc.

How long has offal been eaten all over the world? Whats the difference between eating an organ which deals in waste products or something wrapped in intestines?

I agree it's pretty foul but it's nothing new and certainly not evidence that the world has 'gone tits up'.

Pigs Cheer a traditional Lincolnshire dish I discovered when I moved here.

Offal can be tasty, but even I don't like it all.

I dislike brains and lungs for instance
 
I'll eat / drink most things but I guess even I would "pass" :D on that

I have had this!

I have been in the food and drink industry since I was an egg ;) and when I started selling coffee about 14 years ago I was offered this coffee. I accepted and can say that it is truly an exceptional and not unpleasant taste.

The berry is "passed" well before it enters the normal production process and is only hygienically different in your mind.

If you want to doubt your food start with the **** that is on your BOGOF, cheapest on the planet, supermarket shelves.

Lovely!! saw this in the Metro today, along with a new 99 type ice cream...only it was with mash and peas, a sausage....and gravy yum!! its actually being sold in 'mash vans' too!

I have been lucky enough to enjoy food during the course of my career from mere chippy to multi-michelin starred restaurant. I have nothing but admiration for people who decide to drop whatever they originally trained for and make food for others, they are the heroes of this nation and I support them.

We still have an old fashioned butcher a couple of miles away, he has been there 40 years
( father & son, twice if you see what I mean) to my knowledge.
I drive in the opposite direction to tesco to get my meat from him no problem :thumbs:
