anyone ever tried...

There was an article in one of the recent magazines I bought. Some great shots, they showed some techniques for doing it.

There`s some great effects, some of the ones I saw reminded my of those tribal tattoos. Especially after they were mirrored in PS.

I`d quite like to give it a go. See what happens!

I thought about giving this a go, but without some great lighting or an off camera flash, it's very hard to achieve any decent results! Will be getting an sb600 for my D80 soon, and will certainly be giving it another go!

I had a go at this the other night after finishing some still life shots,
Great fun, if this is what you mean!!!!!

Digital Camera, January 2008 issue by any chance minky_monkey?

There's a 5 page spread telling you how to take and process smoke shots.

Single light source from the side, black background, incense stick. Then in Pshop, twist the image about till it looks like you will get something interesting, copy and paste into new file, flip to get a mirror image then put them together. I got a sore neck from twisting my head around looking for iteresting shapes so be warned. :)

I think it`s the same one Jaykay`s on about.

It was in January`s issue of DC magazine.
