I was in The Works today ...

Anyway, they were selling these consoles that basically looked like a Nintendo Wii (albeit a cheap version).

They were made by a company called Zoom - looked very similar to a wii - came with a 7 game sports pack and cost £19.99 . I am wondering if anyone has seen or heard of them - can't find anything on the web.

Just wondered if it's worth getting one for a laugh when the family are round - can't justofy cash on a wii as yet!!!!

Cheers

Anth,

If you can't justify buying Wii, don't wast £20 on $heite. JMHO

Sounds rather like the cheap arcade game pack type things that were all the rage a few years ago
they were a lot of fun
If you are "prepared" for the possibillity that it might self destruct in the new year then go for it

i think they're called "vii". Someone opened one up once and there was less internal components than a Snes cartridge! Just LOADS of empty space!

Get a wii, much better than tat!

There is no sensor bar shown in the photo, I'd guess that the controller has no motion sensing and is just a wireless controller. You'd be better off buying one of the all-in-one sega megadrive game things :)

I've just had a look at the link you've posted; and I have to say the graphics look like something from the early 1990s.

In a previous life, I used to be an avid game programmer ... and I can tell you that the Wii is worth every bit you pay for it. If you want something that is fun, then go for the real thing.

Only yesterday I forked out just about £200 for a Wii consol with loads of accessories. Got the kids over and they spent hours playing. It was so much fun watching them jump around the room trying to play.

I have never been a fan of these game consols, other than when selling games paid the bills for all my hobbies; but how much these have advanced is just amazing.

Back to the ZONE, it doesn't look anything like the graphics - and hence fun - the Wii has. It's like comparing a D3 to your run of the mill P&S . by the looks of the pics from the link you've posted.
