Hi, I have been wanting to do a course of some kind to learn a bit more about photography etc and I was wondering if anyone on the site has any experience of distance learning in this field? Due to work committments I can't attend a school in the day and evening classes are few and far between and always booked up very early.

If anyone has any comments they would be most appreciated.

Thanks :)

With the online or distance-learning courses I've had exposure to you'll invariably get out what you put in. Especially with something like T175 where it's a community-driven system.

T175 is very good for those wanting some motivation to get them out there taking pictures and helps explain a lot of the basics, but it's also very basic at its core and not really for the experienced photographer. But for most the benefits will outweigh any of the negatives.

There's a couple of very good courses run from the USA but the weak exchange rate has rendered them rather unappealing. And given that the best require a lot of effort it's tough to justify it when you've only got a few hours a week to spare.

Just make sure you're capable and able to put the effort in, whatever course you take.
