Its tough typing by a single candle, ( I know the hardships of the modern age Eh? )
But I'm managing![]()
You'll do fella![]()
I did WWI for History and English for my O' grades at school. It was drummed into me the horror of that war, the bravery of the soldiers involved and the futile waste of life. I believe time has proved that right but I have the utmost respect for people who have and who still do lay down their lives for our country. Pity the politicians only feel this way when it suits them.
Lest we forget? I never will.
Fair play to you, but many of us weren't so directly affected.Sorry, no. But fair respect to those who did.
I don't need an occasion such as this to remember the millions who were sacrificed in the insanity, including my granddad who, although he survived, was deeply mentally scarred by the experience, or my nephew, who served in Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan and lost his wingman to "friendly" fire.
I remember them all, often. Those of the past and those of the present. I don't need telling when to do it or reminding that I should.
to make as stop and think,
For me, you need to add 'do something' to the end of that. We are forgetting the First and Second World Wars, as many of us have forgotten other wars.
Cheers.
