Anyone else use Vidahost with Wordpress?

Im just trying to set up a new wordpress site, ive used Vidahost for donkeys years as my hosters and never had a problem until now. What im seeing within WP seems to be some sort of caching issue. I add new pages and images to the gallery section and then 5 mins later theyve all gone and then intermittently they all come back again. I put an image on the home page and then changed it later on, now i see the old front page and then randomly get the new one. I get login prompts randomly within WP wether ive set the "remember me" option or not.

What i did notice when installing WP was that on the Vidahost control panel page it said i was using an older version of mySQL and the admins should update it. So i emailed them to do that, they did it and then i noticed these issues. I wasnt doing anything in WP previously to notice if the problem was there pre-update though.

Im not sure if this is a hosting issue, wordpress freaking out or the theme im trying to use. But its bloody annoying and i need to sort the problem out.
 
I'd make sure there are no caching plugins installed - once tried one called "w3 total cache" and it was the work of the devil!
With faster connections I cannot see any point in "cache-ing" with WP any more and I avoid anything like this.
 
well i got it working now, no idea how to be honest! i deleted all my WP files from my site, deleted the database, set a new database up with a different name, renamed the table prefix in the config file, reinstalled WP pointing it at the new DB name , when i went to the homepage instead of getting the WP installation page it loaded up the old flipping website again! go figure. Anyway, its up and running. Page edits seem to work correctly now so im keeping my head down and getting on with it. It will probably explode at some point.
