Whats wrong with you, everydays like that for me - stop whinging

;)

At least you are being honest about your efforts, they are truly Crap. :naughty:

We all have days like that though, I know I do.

Days like these just make you appreciate the goods one more (or some such nonsense). Hope tomorrow is better!

hope you were'nt driving when you took that from the M62 bridge...its a very long way down ;)

ps eBuyer have been there for < a year. Before that you would have still passed their depot if driving along the M62 (near Gilberdyke), but it was just an old farm shed - prolly never noticed it :)

Yes, I've had a suitably crap day. Due to changes with my finances I now have approximately £4/week for food, consumables (washing up liquid and all that jazz) and all those other kerazee things I think I need.
Oh, and two close family members are in hospital - woo!

at least your camera works properly...

well I've had a manic/bad 7 days so far.

My lounge has been decorated and delays will mean it's not finished now for ages :(
Carpet should have fitted on the 19th......stock problems have pushed that back to mid jan, so i'm in a lounge where the carpet doesn't fit in.

Ordered sofas at a similar time as the carpet, guy says .....delivered for christmas  ½ hour later he tells me 10 to 12 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Travelled upto bolton to collect a new plasma screen, came away without it as it wouldn't fit in the car, apparently plasmas can't be laid flat (Note to anyone from Currys.......your going to break plasmas), so back up there again today armed with a Transit :woot: ..also came away with a dvd/hdd recorder. But because of the delay getting the screen, i've had to put the installer back a few days :(

and thats only the highlights :bang:

So, i've spent a small fortune and still things aren't right, and your worried about pictures......the worlds gone mad, mad I tell thee

Seems like I do that every time lately ... might be hanging it up for a bit ... waiting for inspiration to return ... ... return ...

:p

Drax powerstation?.... now I feel all homesick
Yep, I recognise the signpost from 5 lanes end at Sandtoft - spent 6 happy years as a community midwife all around that area (and also had some nice food in the pub too!). That road up to Wroot is one of the bumpiest roads ever - with a river running up either side just incase you drive too fast  Great fun on an icy / foggy morning.

I've had a bad week too (and it's only Tuesday :( ) Been off work sick for two days with severe pain :'(

You're think you're having a bad day! That swan is trying to end it all!

I go fishing not far from that sign with Wroot etc on :)

I hope you washed your hands before eating, placenta is not a nice thing to get all over your pub grub. :gag:

Yep, I delivered an order of 12 calendars, things were looking great until the woman said "June" wasn't only the wrong picture it wasn't even her son :shake:

You had A crap day.

I have 5 crap days a week, and if I'm lucky weekends are just bad days :'(

Last good day was two weeks ago at Bolton Abbey

This thread reminded me of...

The Players:
Michael Palin - First Yorkshireman;
Graham Chapman - Second Yorkshireman;
Terry Jones - Third Yorkshireman;
Eric Idle - Fourth Yorkshireman;
The Scene:
Four well-dressed men are sitting together at a vacation resort.
'Farewell to Thee' is played in the background on Hawaiian guitar.

FIRST YORKSHIREMAN:
Aye, very passable, that, very passable bit of risotto.
SECOND YORKSHIREMAN:
Nothing like a good glass of Château de Chasselas, eh, Josiah?
THIRD YORKSHIREMAN:
You're right there, Obadiah.
FOURTH YORKSHIREMAN:
Who'd have thought thirty year ago we'd all be sittin' here drinking Château de Chasselas, eh?
FIRST YORKSHIREMAN:
In them days we was glad to have the price of a cup o' tea.
SECOND YORKSHIREMAN:
A cup o' cold tea.
FOURTH YORKSHIREMAN:
Without milk or sugar.
THIRD YORKSHIREMAN:
Or tea.
FIRST YORKSHIREMAN:
In a cracked cup, an' all.
FOURTH YORKSHIREMAN:
Oh, we never had a cup. We used to have to drink out of a rolled up newspaper.
SECOND YORKSHIREMAN:
The best we could manage was to suck on a piece of damp cloth.
THIRD YORKSHIREMAN:
But you know, we were happy in those days, though we were poor.
FIRST YORKSHIREMAN:
Because we were poor. My old Dad used to say to me, "Money doesn't buy you happiness, son".
FOURTH YORKSHIREMAN:
Aye, 'e was right.
FIRST YORKSHIREMAN:
Aye, 'e was.
FOURTH YORKSHIREMAN:
I was happier then and I had nothin'. We used to live in this tiny old house with great big holes in the roof.
SECOND YORKSHIREMAN:
House! You were lucky to live in a house! We used to live in one room, all twenty-six of us, no furniture, 'alf the floor was missing, and we were all 'uddled together in one corner for fear of falling.
THIRD YORKSHIREMAN:
Eh, you were lucky to have a room! We used to have to live in t' corridor!
FIRST YORKSHIREMAN:
Oh, we used to dream of livin' in a corridor! Would ha' been a palace to us. We used to live in an old water tank on a rubbish tip. We got woke up every morning by having a load of rotting fish dumped all over us! House? Huh.
FOURTH YORKSHIREMAN:
Well, when I say 'house' it was only a hole in the ground covered by a sheet of tarpaulin, but it was a house to us.
SECOND YORKSHIREMAN:
We were evicted from our 'ole in the ground; we 'ad to go and live in a lake.
THIRD YORKSHIREMAN:
You were lucky to have a lake! There were a hundred and fifty of us living in t' shoebox in t' middle o' road.
FIRST YORKSHIREMAN:
Cardboard box?
THIRD YORKSHIREMAN:
Aye.
FIRST YORKSHIREMAN:
You were lucky. We lived for three months in a paper bag in a septic tank. We used to have to get up at six in the morning, clean the paper bag, eat a crust of stale bread, go to work down t' mill, fourteen hours a day, week-in week-out, for sixpence a week, and when we got home our Dad would thrash us to sleep wi' his belt.
SECOND YORKSHIREMAN:
Luxury. We used to have to get out of the lake at six o'clock in the morning, clean the lake, eat a handful of 'ot gravel, work twenty hour day at mill for tuppence a month, come home, and Dad would thrash us to sleep with a broken bottle, if we were lucky!
THIRD YORKSHIREMAN:
Well, of course, we had it tough. We used to 'ave to get up out of shoebox at twelve o'clock at night and lick road clean wit' tongue. We had two bits of cold gravel, worked twenty-four hours a day at mill for sixpence every four years, and when we got home our Dad would slice us in two wit' bread knife.
FOURTH YORKSHIREMAN:
Right. I had to get up in the morning at ten o'clock at night half an hour before I went to bed, drink a cup of sulphuric acid, work twenty-nine hours a day down mill, and pay mill owner for permission to come to work, and when we got home, our Dad and our mother would kill us and dance about on our graves singing Hallelujah.
FIRST YORKSHIREMAN:
And you try and tell the young people of today that ..... they won't believe you.
ALL:
They won't!

yeh my day was crap yesterday and it was crap today, ive decided i hate my job and if the money is still as utterly terrible after january then im jobhunting again, im actually in more debt now than i was as a student 2 years ago and the bosses obviously couldnt give a ****

Youve had a crap day!

Ive spent all afternoon cleaning up after the plasterer who offered to take my radiator off the wall and replace it with my new one when he'd finished working!
10 minutes after he's left, radiator starts leaking water from both sides all over the hall floor .... and plasterer isnt answering his moby!
Calls to several plumbers later and one has finally agreed to come out tomorrow afternoon.
My day went from bad to worse after spending several hours clothes shopping (for a job interview) with an irate 18yrold with no sense of style! :bang:

glad i spent the day in bed now. :)

Not being lazy, working night shifts at the moment which at this time of year is interesting as i goto work in the dark and i come home in the dark.... hmmm

*snip*...My day went from bad to worse after spending several hours clothes shopping (for a job interview) with an irate 18yrold with no sense of style! :bang:

Hiya Tim,

At least you get out and about with your job - the hole I work in has no windows just 132 noisey Servers!!! and a few dodgy strip lights! Suppose I could photograph them.... then that would be really sad lol! Driving home to your lovely house and surrounding area you are sure to get some decent photos this week...... fingers crossed!!!!

I hope you washed your hands before eating, placenta is not a nice thing to get all over your pub grub. :gag:
i believe it's called placentaphagia, a mate of mine once wrote a 2,000 word essay on it, rather twisted little chap he was too.

Pussies. There is only one way to eat it.

With Marmite.

That's bad, Elaine. I'm not sure what the treatment is for that, but I'm sure I'm not alone here in wishing him all the best...

Thats really bad news Elaine, chin up, thoughts are with you, your dad and your family ! :(

One of my friends has a rare tumour on his face, he is having to have operations to remove the cancerous cells, has no nose left, and could potentially lose an eye and maybe his cheek bone, he will not be allowed to drive for up to a year becasue of the potential for epilieptic seizures caused by this procedure ! he potentially has an opt out with a new procedure invovling high power lasers, but he has to discuss it at the Hospital tomorrow to see if its possible and he can be fitted in if it is !

Agree with Catdaddy - best wishes from me also.

Yeah we are hoping, he is really upbeat about it, has been to Los Angeles and presented in front of over 1000 people, in the condition he is now, he is a braver man than i am !

Is horrible this time of year should be joyous.

Aww he sounds like a right little trouper :) Think everyone deserves some love in this thread *hugs everyone*
