Hi,
Saw and old thread that some were interested in the OU Digital course. Did anyone do? If so what did you think. Just looker for a starter course I can fit around work and family!
There is a few threads running ( ran) on the subject this is probabley the longest http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=15183&highlight=open+university
The general consensuses of opinion seems to be that it was a little too basic ( but if thats what you want then its fine) somewhere around 50% of the course was learning elements 5 ( supplied) that was a help certainly for me.
Depends really what stage you are "at"
I thought it was a great course, some of it was basic and 50% was Photoshop elements based, but the one thing for me were the assignments and the fact it gave you tasks to do, to put the lessons into practice.
Coupled with the fact that it was only £37ish with Tesco Clubcard vouchers made it a bargain.
Not sure how the voucher thing works but Elements 5 is a basic version of CS3 I "cut my teeth" on E5 then went on to CS3 extended version, as you can buy it on students licence when you registar with the OU that equates to about £150 instead of the £888 RRP
So for anyone thinking about doing it you can get CS3 for the course fee ( about £150?) and the students "licence" for about the same so for £300 you can get CS3 extended seems worth it just for that if you are thinking of buying
Hi,
Thanks for the responses. I am at the beginning of a long and enjoyable road so am happy to begin at the beginning. My after care is also crap so 50% on that would be good to!
