Yes
anyone coming to see the pope here in London, he is causing chaos already.
Roads and foot paths blocked off don't know what all the fuss is about :shrug:

Most extremists get barred from entering the country, he gets the soddin royal treatment.

I really don't see what all the fuss is about

Strange he didn't want to come at the start of November.. :D

He's been causing chaos for little boys for the passed 30 years.

At £10-£12 million to the taxpayer I hope that the chaos will be value.

Nope.

Two reasons.
1 : Already seen him. We were right near where he landed when he came to Heaton Park.
2 : As I've grown up, I realise that religion is a tool to control the populous through fear of the unknown/unexplained.
3 : He's just a man. He puts his pants on one leg at a time, just like the rest of us ;)
4 : I strongly disagree that he is treated as a head of state. He's not. He's no more important than Hubbard (the man behind Scientology) IMO.

Thats 3 4 reasons. :suspect:

ill be staying firmly in Yorkshire thankyou very much, well away from the child touching of the catholics...

As a catholic this is slightly offensive, after all its not all catholics that do this, it is mostly the priests.
PS I am not a practicing catholic, I am more a pagan than anything else these days,

I also agree that religion is used as a way of controlling the masses with fear of the unknown.

I think we should have another TP whipround ... this time for the "Popemobile" - (Notice its a bastidised Merc this time instead of a Mini Metro or whatever it was last time) and then Wheels / MagicMynx and all other wheelchair using togs could borrow it for special missions!!!!

By the way I reaed somewhere (prob the Daily Fail so it's made up) that the Popemobile has 3/4 inch armour plated glass........ Now that's faith for you!!!!:lol::lol:

The Vatican City IS a country, believe it or not AND the Pope is the head of state and leader of the Vatican City, so he can come here as a head of state on a state visit I'm afraid.

Just to set the record straight, I dont support the visit, I'd prefer him to stay at home as much as anyone else.

As a Catholic, I do kinda take offence at some of these comments, though not all.

I do think the pregnant nun adverts kicking about are wrong, the company would never do that to the Muslim/Jewish faiths, so why is catholicism any different?

Lastly, Religion on TP - Allowed?

3 : He's just a man. He puts his pants on one leg at a time, just like the rest of us

Are you sure they are his pants though.

Sorry my Mum is a devout Catholic and even she won't be going. For reasons already mentioned. :D

I'll correct myself, No problems with people asking if they are attending the visits, but really the comments aren't neccesary.

Again, comments on religions we don't support, well we are all in that boat, seeing as the Govt funds all kind of church projects, school etc. Lets face it, £20m is nothing to the Govt, and they have wasted much more on many things recently, at least religion as a whole is a positive thing for the country, and also many individuals, regardless of your personal views.

Can we get the thread back on topic?

I shot the last one when he came here and i'll be trying to shoot this one when he comes near enough for me :D

Dave

Is there another wedding to annul? Oh wait, that was settled by Henry VIII ...

When you see him just shout: "Hearst Ratzinger du oida Zipfiklatscha! Ois fit im Schritt?"

Btw. when and where will he be? Don't want to get stuck.

Can we please not make fun of the man in the sky and his followers. It doesn't make for good relations between everyone.
Man? I devoutly believe in the flying spaghetti monster and the orbiting teapot. ;)

When a traditional head of state comes to the UK it is about politics which essentially affects us all. This, however, is about religion and I couldn't care if it's the Pope, the Orange King, a man with a big beard or Allah himself - it shouldn't be covered by our state.

In one hand our Government is happy to spend a fortune guarding and granting immunity to this kiddie fiddler protectorate, but then in the other hand it wants to get rid of 40,000 police officers??? I wonder what the Pope has on us?

All he has to do is remember his youth training and turn his hand anti-clockwise just a little.... and what with German born Cardinal Walter Kasper's comments I think a pattern is developing here....It could be coming!

Since when has religion been a positive thing!?! ... no you right don't answer that ... ;)

Thread back on track ...I going to be trying to get to jobs across London mostly, so no photography opportunities for me this week, mostly traffic jams by the sound.
