As the title says really, going there soon, so just wondered if their is anything i should be looking out for, apart from the advertised attractions, it looks a great place, although probably not as popular as Barcelona, and not as touristy, however that's why i chose it :)

I went there for the F1. The main thing photography wise is definitely the architecture.
It's a hard climb to the top of the cathedral. But you get a rewarding view over the city. Try it.
The Bull Ring is quite a building too. There was (and may still be) a "camp" in the middle of town protesting against something. Maybe good for candids or B/W's.
Also a good "street cafe" type life in the evenings. Though that may be calming down now as the weather cools.

Yeah, a lovely place. 30 mins drive from the beach too.

Most of those were taken with the Sigma 10-20mm.

Ah yes great lens, did you use a tripod ? or were they hand held ? as i noticed a few were in what appears to be low lighting conditions.

Hi and thanks for the kind comments. Yep, I was using a tripod all the time.

I live 20km's from Valencia and it's a great place. Personally I recommend getting the tourist bus, there's 2 now so that you can get your bearings. I did them both recently with friends and found that the one around the marina and F1 circuit was far less interesting.

The Arts and Sciences complex is fantastic for walking around. Within the old town there's some nice old stuff, if you are there on a Sunday the La Lonja (silk exchange) is free to go in and that's a lovely building.

The metro is fairly cheap and gets you around nicely, Malvarossa beach is very nice.

Also the Biopark (Valancia Zoo) is a brilliant half day out. It's very unzoo like and great for photo opportunities. It's on one of the tourist bus routes now.

If you are staying in the city, get the Metro from the airport and save on a taxi fare!

Thanks for the info Sara, and that's a lovely image too.

Yes i'm quite looking forward to it now, just hope their are no riots out that way, lol.

I think anywhere in Spain has got to be better than England at the moment

Don't you believe it, it looks like Wales out of my window at the moment, grey drizzly with the occasional showery outbreak

It is however aabout 22° ;)

Just seen on the news, their has been a Tornado near there

Yep, but it's sunny now and the forecast for the nest 2 weeks is sun sun sun

I hope that lasts for 3 weeks then, as i'm not going for another 2 weeks, lol.

Tornado was in Gandia I think. That's not quite down the road. Like a tornado in Birmingham when you live in London!

Glad to hear that:)

I'm sure you'll be fine. So what have you got planned?

Just a nice relaxing break really, and i will probably spend a whole day taking photos, just so i don't have to carry my camera everyday, having said that, it never works out like that, lol :)
