Hey All

Have been very fortunate to have travelled far and wide in recent years on business, and have now been asked to visit Düsseldorf next week.

Has anyone from here visited Düsseldorf and have good pointers as to what's interesting to take pics of please? I haven't been there before, but will be arriving in the late afternoon/early evening time so should have a few hours during the later evening to snap away.

Any suggestions...?

Ta

Anyone...? am off there on Wednesday and any pointers would be good.

I have been a few times but only for work trade shows so did not see much, But i know there is a nice old town near the river

John,

One of Dusseldorfs little cultural things occurs in the "Altstadt".
There are cafes around the main square and the local kids do cart wheels and back flips around the place in exchange for tips thrown by the tourists.....well, they did many years ago before X-box and Playstation 2's.

My advice would be to go for a 30-40 minute drive to Cologne.
The Cathedral is probably the most moving and impressive building that I've ever been in...and I'm not the least bit religious.

Do you actually get paid for this globe trotting photography then?

If so, you are the def of a Robertson's coated portion of turf! :D
Yep, I certainly do Dave. Madrid next week, then Eindhoven then Milan... all before Christmas too!! and all pad for... :)

Not too sure I shall have the time to do that Bob, but I shall consider it. I have been to Cologne cathedral before a long time ago when I was a child and I remember it being very beautiful.

That part of Germany is full of stuff to see...went to the Berg Altena on Saturday...in...Altena...big old castle, seat of the (amongst others) Cleves, Hohenzollerns etc etc. They're currently renovating the drains in the courtyard, so all the cobbles are pulled up, but it's still a pretty good visit...I managed to occupy myself there for three hours.
