No
I've just got one off fleebay from Calumet photo, supposedly in very good condition.
I need to fill the gap between 24-70mm in my lens range. It wont get much use, so didnt want to throw a grand at a 24-70mm. Even though it is a fantastic lens!
Just wondered if anyone has any experience with the 28-70mm, good or bad....
I leave for France tomorrow for 3 weeks, so wont get to have a play with it until I get back. Give me something to think about whilst i am away. ;)

Kev.

Its reasonable. Not that sharp wide open (compared to the 17-55 DX for example) and it has a lot of CA at times wide open on bright contrast-y edges.

If you paid under £500 you got a reasonable deal, although I've seen boxed new ones go for £399 lately, which is a bargain. It'll be an ex-rental from them, and I'd not be too keen on the whole as god know what sort of treatment it has had.

Decent enough lens all the same.

I saw a couple go at £399 recently on Ebay. I'd gone for one myself at that price.

To make sure we are talking about the same thing, I am talking about the 28-70 f/2.8 AF-S aka "The Beast" - I used to have one :)

Its lens on the right (compared to the 17-55 which I upgraded to)

Its still a very nice lens, I wasn't trying to pee on your parade :)

Yep the 2.8. ;)
I can't find a new one on ebay for less than a grand. You should have bought it!!!
Then sold me it for a £100 profit....:D

It was about 3 to 4 weeks ago. A brand new one came up, and I guess someone else had one, did a quick search and saw another at £399 and sold there's for that too! Ebay is funny, I saw a rash of 17-55's going for about the £530 mark recently as well, seems like quite a few hit at once so the selling price just dropped as the market flooded.

I'd had it if I'd be quick enough on the BIN button :)
