Anybody used one of these

.....as you probably know for portraiture you can use master and slave flash guns with a fairly cheap slave unit that fires the secondary after the main flashgun fires..plenty of old flashguns going cheap and no worries about trigger voltage that might fry modern cameras.

Straight on the PC socket, jobs a goodun

Although not long enough for a "true" portrait lens, it may be worth trying the Helios 44m 58mm lens which is famous for swirly backgrounds. The only example shot I have isn't a portrait but it gives some idea of the effect:

The shot above was taken with an M42 adaptor on a Canon EOS300 camera on Poundland film.

Found one on wycameras. Picking up the camera on Friday!!

I had 2 MTL5's at one point (thinking back one of them could've been a 3).

Also had a 135 2.8 on it, but I think I had the slower std lens (may have been 2.8)

Also used to use a Hanimex flash for years (hammerhead)

Ooh no!!!

I figured as I was getting the camera bundle for free I could spend a few pennies on the 58mm!!

I've accumulated 18 screw lenses, don't get LBA like me :D

LBA - Leeds and Bradford Airport. Or Logical Block Addressing (the acronym I know).

But I suspect Lens Buying Addiction or the support group for the same (?) Lens Buyers Anonymous. :D

I first came across the acronym a day or so ago on this forum - I'd only heard of the computer one before that.

:jaffa:

Well I prefer CRAB can't resist a bargain... at the bootie :D

Did you look in classifieds as there was a bargain with Dean selling a Spotmatic camera with Pentax 55mm f1.8 for £25..a VG screw lens.

Mission accomplished then! ;)

...but there would be nothing to argue about from the fan boys about:- looks, handling, size, meters, quirks, reliabillity, design faults and add your own to the list :D
