Hi guys

I was looking at these kit of kits.

http://www.calumetphoto.co.uk/item/cf1001/?ctc=Calumet_UK-Homepage-Aspots_3-SLMODKIT

I was looking for the best way to attach a snoot to a flash gun. As far as I can see the snoot looks good in this set but the rest of the kit isn't that useful?

There isn't going to be a situation where I'm wishing I had a 4" beauty dish is there?

Anybody found any smaple photographs taken with these kinds of tools?

Cheers Stuart

I bought the above kit a couple of years ago. I have had a couple of goes with the reflector and grids but to be honest, the ONLY part I use is the snoot. Some of the accessories have never even been out of the box!

Pretty expensive snoot huh?

The small beauty dish on a speedlight is a waste of time (in my opinion), but I will sell it to you if you decide you need one ;)

Chris.

Thank you for the replies,

I can buy a strobies interfit snoot for about £30 but the fit is more flash gun specific and I have one Sb600 and 3X Chinese cheapys, and I'm not sure i won't upgrade the sb800/900s one day.

I was aware of the viewfinder package as far as I can see it the same as the Calumet one and I get 20% discount with them so it is the same price after postage.

Cool I wont get the kit, (Unless you want to sell it to me for a very low price Chip! :D ) has I quite often shoot product shoots and it "might" loan itself better to that.

Any body got any better offers on the snoot only?

Cheers Stuart

Why not make one using the black drinking straw method. I bought 500 black straws from the 99p shop. 10 minutes later I had a lovely snoot. The beauty of this is, you can vary the length of the straws to get different sized spots. If that's too much trouble use a piece of funky foam rolled round into a tube and fastened with Velcro. Either way, they both cost less than £1.

EVEN CHEAPER...BUT YOU'D HAVE TO WAIT ON POSTAGE...

Hope you are a full time student...I got knocked back for the 20%...was going to buy a 300b flash and battery kit as well...so be warned...they wanted a metric card with photo and number...got a few other bits to get as well...so its bloody annoying...having to try ebay...

Sellign off some bits as well...the NY cycle has begun...SORRY DUDE...ME RAMBLING...

One of guys in club has the kit...but mainly uses as a standby...dont think he ever used the snoot though...

I have considered this, I think this is the only time you will hear me say this.... I doesn’t look good,

Normally I don’t give a stuff what I’m using as long as it gives a good picture, however when you are photographing a model (especially on a TFP basis) then if you look like you’ve got the kit then it instils confidence… Possibly! :D

I assume the snoot in that set can be lengthened and retracted to alter the spot size?

I got one of the snoot kits of FITP :) it was about £12.50 i think and came with velco strap to put on the flash gun and a square of material with velcro around it that your rolled into a snoot and put a grid ont he end :) works perfect everytime :) cheap as cheaps, weighs b****r all and packs downs mall.
