Yes
As the title says, I have a Dropbox account so I can access files at home, work and on on my tablet.

But I'm not really sure how Evernote is different, anybody use it in anger?

They are two very different things. It's like you are trying to compare parsnips and shovels??

Dropbox is a cloud-based receptacle for files.

Evernote stores information. Specifically information to help you organise yourself, your business, your day. To help you get things done! If this is something you need (everyone does!) then study GTD then try Omnifocus which, IMHO, is far superior to Evernote.

I use both.

Dropbox is basically just cloud based storage for files, which conveniently syncs between multiple devices if you wish. I have my personal documents on Dropbox as well as all my processed photos. That way they're backed up off site and readily available on my two laptops, my phone and all over the world. Think of it like off site networked storage, with a cached and synced copy on your local drive. You can stick any sort of file into Dropbox, so long as it meets storage constraints for your account.

One cool feature I like is that when I snap photos on my smartphone Dropbox will upload them to the cloud (if I wish) and once I'm at my laptop they immediately sync from the cloud to my hard drive and are ready to view/edit within seconds, and all without lifting a finger.

Evernote, as John says, stores "information". I use it to hold reference information such as software licence keys, travel details etc. and screen scraped captures of information from websites. From a mobile phone you can record photos into Evernote, record some audio, draw a picture and write notes to go with these things. It will also sync across devices.

Thanks very much for replying guys, John, had a quick look at Omnifocus, but it looks like it's for Apple only.

Three answers - pick one.

1. Ooops! Sorry, I should have remembered.

2. Isn't everyone using macs these days?

3. It's so good it is worth dumping your PC and switching.

Google Dave Allen - Getting Things Done - this'll explain Evernote and its functionality better

Great system of work but takes some time to "master"

On Android an update to the app was released a few days ago (very quick response to threat) which requested (forced) a password change to be made before going further. No doubt it was the same on other platforms too.

I use evernote and dropbox. As has already been stated I use dropbox for files and evernote for reminders, lists and sharing them with my better half.

In return she sends me to do lists around the house. ;)

I use MS onenote, free on windows 8, iOS and android and integrates with the full one note from office.

Does the same job as Evernote, can share notebooks with people etc.

I use evernote, I couldn't find onenote for the iphone when I got it, or I'd have stuck with that.

But I need to start using sharepoint for groupworking as I'm involved in a pilot at work and I have access to a sharepoint server on a website I help manage.

Any IoS recommended Sharepoint clients?

Quick note for Evernote users, they were

And were very quick to get things set up so that users were forced to change their passwords.

I use Evernote for storing a wide variety of information - recipes, shopping lists, travel details, archery sight tables, static IPs for all my gear on our network, camera serial numbers, notes on shooting locations, clues needing following up on my ancestry research, etc., etc.

Having it all there, ready to access on all my devices, is wonderful.
