Yes
I can heartily recommend these guys.

British based, excellent customer support and I got an 'unlimited everything' (sql db's, space, bandwidth) deal for 25 quid a year. Been using them for a few years now.

Stick on the price of a domain name and its not much different annually from the prices Flickr charge.

then they lied to you.. you cant get unlimited bandwith or any of the other services... seems a bit disshonest of them to tell you otherwise

just a thought :)

Not according to their site ;)

maybe what you say is true, but I have never had any issues with files sizes, space used, no of sql db's etc.

May not be unlimited but I certainly havent had any restrictions to date, and I am using LOTS of space and about 9 sql db's :)

Sites that claim unlimited are generally aimed at users that don't really know how much they will use and therefore will only use a tiny amount.

They are all fine and dandy till they decide you are using too much and thats its disrupting other users on their over crowded servers. The effect is normally more noticeable when you start using php sites with sql back ends and the query times are slow.

They may well have done you well but just be wary if your needs increase.

Can you explain that? I get unlimited webspace and bandwidth from my hosting company too.

no you dont...they just tell you that you do..

ask yourself why ebay or utube? or whatever its called dont go there then?

look at your terms and conditions and it will state that they have the right to close down your website if you use too much bandwith.. i dont even know who your host is but they will have that in there terms.. and that isnt unlimited..

BTW OP they arnt a hosting company they are resellers..original hosting is easy/heart internet

I've had no probems so far and use a LOT of storage. Haven't check b/width useage in a while.

IF it's unlimited I'll move all my sites over there!

I agree with KIPAX, no-one offers an unlimited service.. They'll operate a fair usage policy, similar to mobile phone co's...

Unlimited texts (subject to fair usage policy) = 3000 texts per month. Sooooo, not unlimited then!

maybe what you say is true, but I have never had any issues with files sizes, space used, no of sql db's etc.

that doesnt mean its unlimited.. that just means you havent reached the limit? :)

Will keep my mouth shut in future! :D

Was just suggesting people have a look, as when I looked many other sellers limited you to a defined no of databases (frequently just one) or limted GB storage space.

As I said, I have never had an issue with these guys.

;)

Just out of interest how much space have you used?

These services can work out quite well for the sort of user that hosts a low traffic site but needs lots of space as most users will hardly be using any resources

space = 4755Mb
data trasfer this month so far = 11,500Mb

less than I thought probably

as above.. that doesnt mean its unlimited..

Exactly, no such thing an an unlimited hard drive or an unlimited data connection.

Hosts who have 'unlimited' options will have a fair usage policy or something similar in place.

Still owning a web hosting company based out of RapidSwitch Spectrum House (Maidenhead) I can tell you for a fact that you will not get unlimited hard drive space or bandwidth.

There are no unlimited hard drives, even for servers, not yet at least. The experiments they are doing with crystals may well yield an unlimited hard drive but that's a fair few years off.

You cannot get unlimited bandwidth either, nor can your web host. There is a limit to the amount of data that can be transferred in a month through a server port (internet connection). Normally these ports are around 100 Megabit per second (Mb/s), but can go up to 1 Gigabit per second (Gb/s). The limit of these ports is 30 Terabytes and 30 Petabytes respectively.

Advertising unlimited anything is just a marketing ploy. It's all part of the overselling cash grab currently infesting the web hosting market. Companies know that 95% of their customers will use less than 5% of their allotted space, so they fill their servers up to make more profit per server whilst sacrificing stability and speed.

All hosts should have a fair usage policy (we do, but it's to do with illegal content and things like that).

I'd say you would be looking at 50 GB space and 200 GB transfer before you are even highlighted as a high end user.

I needed a quick and cheap host, so I thought I'd give it a try - for £25 you can't go wrong, right?

Thanks for the heads up Dave, shall keep you all posted
