Anybody have these remote triggers??

I used have these and they worked but were prone to mis-firing, say every sixth or seventh shot. Don't know if it was to do with signal interference or battery power diminishing. They did a job but the main reason I got rid was the locking wheel to change angle was never the most secure when they had a speedlight on top - I feared for the flash so ended up on Skyports.:)

Thanks for the reply, skyports are a lot dearer, do you think they are worth that much difference?
Thanks Wayne

never tried the cactus remotes, but ive heard many bad things. personally i use RF-602's and i havent had any problems with them whatsoever

in fact, on my d70, i can sync up to 750th of a second with them, which is a sweet, sweet thing

though say one shot in every two hundred you do get the sync band where the flash is slightely delayed, so i usually shoot five hundredth

though, i think the RF-603's are out soon and they use a non-proprietery jack, so might be worth the wait

//edit

no, i tell a lie, quick search on ebay, there out, but none of the dealers i use are currently stocking them yet

little bit more expensive than the 602's though

Wayne, I was a bit flush when I opted for Skyports and although their wireless range us excellent, I wouldn't get them again because I know that shooting the distances I shoot (probably a maximum of 25m) I can get a full set for much cheaper.

I'm actually selling Skyports because I've just got a set of Phottix Stratos, which worked out about £85 for a Tx and two Rx units; the Tx has a TTL pass-through hotshot so you can trigger manual flashes wirelessly, plus have an in-camera flash in top with TTL for fill light. Great performance so far - had them a week or so an currently happy.

I'm in my iPhone so can't see your gear list - if you're on Nikon I have a 1xTx and 2xRx set of RF-602 triggers that I'm going to put up for sale later. Basically bought them just in case the Phottix ones didn't arrive in time from HK for the wedding j shot last weekend.

Have a look at ishootshows.com - some really good reviews of the Strato and the 602s :)
