Lately I've been getting one a day of these in my hotmails junk box - "Dear Customer,

Your order has been successfully canceled. For your reference, here's a summary of your order:

You just canceled order 132-9344-88315 placed on June 9, 2017.

Status: CANCELED".........they are always slightly different, needless to say I just delete them, but I don't understand why or how some scam merchant can benefit from these, if that is the reason for them!

Anybody else receive these?

Once you open one ,they then know yours is a live account and other less obvious scams will be employed to trick you .bin them all ,never ever open them
 
A better option is to report them as phishing scam so that they can be stopped being sent to other people who may not be as well informed.
 
There's often an attachment, and god knows what that contains.

I've just realised that the numbers shown on my post are a link, I think, not that I've opened it as I always delete these posts......should I remove it from here? excuse my lack of knowledge on these things.

Just break the link. I'm not suggesting it's dangerous, I can't check from here.
