Yes
Come accross a good deal for some equipment on Fotosense but its the first ive heard of them.
Anybody on here bought equipment through them?
Any particularly good/ bad experiences?

Yeah I spend about a grand with them 2 years ago, all went smoothly and delivery was on time. I've not needed to deal with them beyond the initial purchase so can't comment on what their after sales service is like.

Very bad experience but for some reason when I mentioned it on here I got completely lambasted, so Ill keep my gob shut.

I've bought from them a couple of times in the past (not for over a year though). Only had any problems once, and that was due to my CC company being over cautious and blocking my card (I had done a couple of very low value transactions earlier in the evening, the third transaction then lead toe the card being blocked.
Unable to sort it out until the morning, then contacted Fotosense about my order - explained what had happened, and that I wanted to proceed - they were able to recall the order, and also honoured the 20% discount that had been available as a weekend special (it was now Monday morning).
I'd be happy to buy from them again.

Ok thats interesting thanks, perhaps ill give it a miss this time and stick with Wex.

Bought from them on multiple occasions - albeit mainly £50-£100 items and not any camera bodies or lenses.

Certainly nothing criminal about them - but I'm sure they suffer from the same customer service issues that everyone does.

This ^

I've used them myself in the past without major problems, the only thing I'd say is phone and confirm that they actually have the item you want to buy first.

Have use them, bought a camera bag last year & a tripod just recently didn't have any problems, the only issue really was the bag took over a week to arrive & the shop is only about 15 mile away.
But i blame myself for being a lazy brd & not getting of my arse

Used them - terrible service - failed to respond to numerous communications - failed to refund my money - failed me completely as a customer. I've left responses to others that have asked the same question in some of the other threads in more detail.

Tried to buy from them, they took the money saying the item was in stock then arsed me about saying they had to order it in, then after another month I had to chase it again and they chose to then tell me there were problems with their suppliers

Eventually got a refund off them

I won't be going anywhere near them again

I guess it depends on an individuals situation but the saving over the same item on Wex is £40, in my eyes a good deal.
Ive bought from Wex many times before without any problems, having said that there are obviously people who have used Fotosense many times without problem, so im now just weighing up in my head whether its worth the saving.( total purchase would be £360 with Fotosense.)

Thanks for all the help so far.

Used them multiple times with NO issues what so ever - talked directly to owner and got on well - helped me out with a poor decision on my part after several months full refund and a new purchase at a discount. Have bought compact cameras from them and many accessories over time

I have had mail order and gone in person when possible - they are not Pro Togs like Calumet but they will do a deal

Highly recommended from me

I have used them a couple of times, although not within the last year. One purchase was in person from their premises and the second was an online transaction.

The first was a couple of Olympus bridge cameras, C8080, anyone remember them! The second purchase was a Manfrotto tripod head.

I was happy with the service and price with both purchases.

Chris

I've used them previously, was a very good price - not too far away from me and in stock so went to collect - only to find out it wasn't in stock !!!

Not very helpful customer service behind the desk, but was promised they'd order more stock and it'd be with me within the week, free delivery and a slight discount due to wasted journey - so good customer service in the end, but I'd sertainly phone them in future to make sure they have physical stock in...

Thanks guys.
After researching other reviews today i think im going to order from Wex. I think peace of mind is worth more to me than the saving.
Really appreciate all the help.

Ordered from them a few times with no problems but if there ever were they are only down the road from me.

Can't go wrong with WEX used them many times and never a problem hope non to come either as I've just ordered a Nikon D7000 from them!!!!

Bought a few lighting bits from them, the umbrella clamp was poorly finished / looked like a possible user return - when I complained I was told that I was paying for functionality - not looks. Only option I was offered was to send the item back at my own expense under DSR as unwanted.
Postage would have been at least 1/3rd of the cost of the item so decided to live with it - dont plan to use them again...
